A vulgar place 3/5/2012

I paid a visit to Brandon's in Hilliard before a movie at the Movie Tavern with my two elementary school aged sons in hopes of picking up a couple of used games. We had been in the store less than a minute when one of the employees described a game to another person as ""Effing terrible"" only he didn't say ""Effing"". \r \r For an employee to use that language in any retail store, let alone a store with lots of kids as patrons is simply unacceptable.\r \r Less than a minute is all I took to make sure I would never spend a dime at Brandon's.\r \r more

WOW, what a change! 11/5/2008

Looking for a welcome change? Go to Brandon's Video and see for yourself. Better inventory, knowledgable staff, great interior work (especially that carpet). Glad to see the improvements, great to see the addition of new games. more

Good Place to Go! 10/21/2008

I was in the store a couple of weeks ago; new owners who helped me a lot. Let me try out some things on a Wii and were helpful answering questions. The owner was doing some work that should make the environment a lot nicer! New lights and I heard some painting and new carpet was going to be installed. Cool that they have game contests and are having a tournament soon! Check it out! Pros: Knowledgable employees; a lot of potential; helpful if you have limited experience more

Keep an eye on this one! 9/9/2008

I recently visited Brandon's Video Game Exchange, and not with high expectations, the guy who owned the place shouldn't have been running a video game store. I'd only been there a few times, (to get discs resurfaced, since no one else does it) and the guy was exactly as the other reviews described him. However, to my suprise there was a kid there behind the counter. He told me someone else had bought the store from the old guy, and he was the new store manager. I think he said his name was Nick, or Mick or someting. Always being a fan of local business as opposed to the giant corporate chains ( I used to work at a gamestop, I hate that place now) I talked to the kid a while. He said they had big plans. They were working to get thier inventory up, especially on newer stuff, like 360, PS3 and Wii, and even made mention of possibly buying brand new games, and not selling strictly used games. Thier inventory is already better than last time I was here, this will be a store to watch. The kid knows what he's talking about too, we talked about all kinds of games, and he actually had played most of them, not like the old guy who had never picked up a controller. I'm excited to have a great local game store again. Pros: Great potential. Local. Cons: Still needs some work, but I'm stoked to see it when it's done. more

New People running the store 9/7/2008

There are two younger guys who are running the store now and they where very help and gave me alot in trade for my old games. They knew what they where talking about on the games. They even told me they they plan on adding a lots of games. I can't wait for a local shop with good people on the west side. Pros: Great service!!!!! more

What Happened? 9/17/2007

I have always been a ""support local business"" when i can. I dont buy as many games as i used to but i am trying to get my family into a house that we own. Enough about me though. I took my oldest in to the store there and it was like being at a funeral. Before hand that store had TONS of games and it would take hours to go though them all and even the guy that was in place was in a better mood. \r \r All thats there now is used games and not even good ones at that. The shelves are almost bare and there is nothing in the bins in the middle. I asked the question about DS games and i was told he was all out. Thats it. Nothing else. Nothing to try to say that he will get more games so i can come back. \r \r I did find a game that was 5 bucks cheaper there but i did not buy it. There is no energy in that place at all. TV is playing fox28 and not well. No music nothing to make you feel welcome. I give this 1 star due to the fact that i have to assign it at least one star. \r \r I dont know where you are Brandon but know this, your store is in the crapper. Its sad cause at one point that was the place to get games. Good prices and fantastic service. Brandon was a very likable guy and you felt good supporting him and local business. \r \r Conclusion: its a long drawn out funeral that sucks. It is a shell of what it used to be. It is sad. Pros: The end. Cons: Going in. more

Gold star games owns brandos all day every day..boo yeah!!!11 5/3/2007

I used to own a videogame store in west jefferson ohio. Some of you may remember it. Gold star games, where the pizza delivery girls were hot, and we closed the store randomly to play football with the neiborhood kids. That is the type of management we were, caring.\r \r We would Occasionally call brandon at brandon?s videogame exchange (he no longer owns it, something about $500,000 in stolen property) and they would give us prices. We would price match them if customers asked but most the time we gave more and sold for less than them.\r \r The management was and still is awful. They work out of a karate dojo now so don?t make them mad or????JUDO CHOP!\r Pros: there are none, they are rip off long time Cons: shoot, just read the review more

This should be your last resort. 10/3/2006

I've been going to Brandon's Video Game Exchange for several years now because, it is within almost walking distance of my home, and that is the only reason why I have ever gone there. The owner is unfriendly. He won't give refunds. He has a temper. I asked him for a refund of a PlayStation One that I bought from him and he got a temper and told me no. It cost over $20 and he gave me $7 for it. He is unfamiliar with video games. I asked him over the phone if he had an AR Max Memory Card, he said no. I go there a few hours later out of curiousity and he has at least three. Some of my friends have bought stuff from him and like my PlayStation, they didn't work. The electrical tape that holds the wires was all broken and he didn't even repair them. He has a big sign hanging over his shop with his web site URL on it. It is Buena Vista's URL. He is not a good business man. Also, he will not give the accurate amount for a game when you exchange one of your's for him. I asked him about a certain game and he said it had a $3 value. I asked another store, and they said $30 value. If you go here, it really should be your last resort. Pros: Carries some older games for Atari and such. Cons: Temper, bad quality of the things he is selling. Inaccurate exchange pricing. more
