Best

Both places have the best italian food around. The Colidge Corner one has better service and ambiance but they have no competition other than each other.

Worst

Love it! 10/6/2007

I spent a semester in college in Rome, and I've rarely found food that matched true ""Italian"". Bottega Fiorentina, however, came VERY close to the real thing! The service was awesome, wine menu great, and ambience was unbeatable. Every time I go I really feel like I'm back in Italy! Make sure to call ahead- very small and limited seating. Definately worth every penny! Pros: AMBIENCE, Service, Parking, Wine Selection, Food Quality Cons: Limited Seating more

Best Carbonara - great value 3/23/2006

Bottega is a quaint little eatery with a variety of different pastas and sauces for one to mix and mingle. The prices usually range from $5-10 depending on what is ordered. There are also hot meals that are served daily. You can make you own salad with a variety of deli ingredients to add. They also serve sandwiches. One of the most popular dishes by far is the spaghetti carbonara which is tasty. There are 2 locations on Harvard Street in Brookline. Great value and food right in the heart of Brookline. Nice intimate setting good for first dates on a budget or lunch. Pros: great value, variety, tasty food Cons: small seating area, parking more

Big disappointment 5/26/2005

After hearing so much about Bottega my standards were obviously quite high. But I don't think that's why I was disappointed. The food is below average, especially since the owners claim to be Italian. They obviously have never had good Italian food. The pasta is overcooked and the sauces are way too sugary. In additon, the pasta has not been cooked in water containing enough salt. However, the interior is cute and cozy as everyone sits next to eachother on long benches. more

The Best Italian 6/16/2002

After a two-week vacation in Florence, my wife and I were disappointed by the lack of any food that matched the flavor and quality of what we had there. The North End has some great restaurants, but the dozen or so places we've tried are either serving the cuisine of other regions or they just don't get it right (don't get me started about the lame ""gelato""). Bottega Fiorentina (and the companion restaurant Firenze) gets it right. The emphasis is on accentuating the best possible ingredients. Simple approaches done masterfully and with friendly service. The bresaola sammich is my pick for the best sammich in the Boston area. Pastas and sauces are also unbeatable. Wish there was more seating. Pros: Best Italian Food, Fresh Ingredients, Friendly Staff Cons: Inadequate Seating, Not Enough Parking more
