Boston Color Group

I went to BCG about 6 months ago. I was first quoted once price for foils on the phone, then charged a higher price when it was completed. The number of foils remained the same. I also preferred to go to one of the other hair dressers instead of Nicole. However, since I was a walk in, Nicole still insisted I was her client and I was charged her higher prices instead of the other hair dresser's. It was not a good experience at all. I will never go back. more

Just left The Boston Color Group and my hair has never looked this great! Nicole exceeded my expectations - she did a fantastic job. Before I went in the top of my head was brighter than the bottom and my layers didn?t flow well. I wanted that natural sunburst California blonde. Nicole sat with me while we discussed my options and she really led me in the right direction. This is the natural blonde color I have always wanted and the cut is so stylish. There was no pressure to buy her products even though i walked out with new stuff. I will be honest; I am one of the pickiest people when it comes to my hair and have tried multiple salons. Very happy with my haircut and deep condition. Nicole cared about the condition of my hair and it's health more than any other stylist I've visited. She gave me great tips on styling and helped me understand how split ends are caused and they can be prevented. I've been following Nicole for about six years now, and can't see why I would ever let anyone else cut or color my hair. She has it down to a science, especially if you've had trouble with color in the past. She really knows how to use color products to produce exactly what you want. You won't walk out with what SHE wanted for your hair, you'll get what YOU wanted, although she does provide assistance and help for you to decide what will look best on you. She is also a precise yet artful cutter of hair...you'll look like you got the best cut on Newbury Street. An added bonus: she's terrific with children, making them feel right at home and comfortable so that they'll actually sit still. She's made my four-year-old look adorable! I have been going to Nicole for eight years (for color and haircuts) and every time I leave the salon I am so happy with my hair! Nicole is an amazing colorist and an awesome stylist (like no one else I have ever been to, in or around Boston). She is always helpful with suggestions if you are looking to make a change in your style or color. Boston Color Group is open very extended hours (early and late), which works out great for people who have busy schedules. Nicole is always on time and has a very pleasant, friendly and upbeat manner. I went to see Nicole a couple of months a go because nobody could understand what I wanted for my hair. Nicole sat done with me numerous times and really listened. We went over and over things until we were both on the same page. She never over charged me, I get so many compliments on my hair, it makes me feel amazing, Now I am trusting her to do my hair for my brother's wedding, Trust me guys I am one of the pickiest people if you want your hair to look amazing go see Nicole, you won't want to see anyone else. :) Pros: Everything Cons: There are None more

I just came from Nicole for the fourth time. The boston color group is a relaxed fun enviroment to be in. Nicole is very nice and she can give you just the style you want. When I first wanted highlights I told her what I wanted and she listened carefully and I got the style I wanted perfectly the first time. I e-mail her all the time for advice about what and what not to do with my hair and she always gives me an exelent thorough reply answering all of my questions. If your frustrated with your hair and want a different look, Nicole is the perfect person to go to. The prices are great and you'll have a really fun time. If you chose to ignore this, then you're missing out completely!!! After trying many different high-end places downtown for blonde highlights, I just went to Nicole for the first time. She is extremely nice and was very careful with my hair. She really listened to what I wanted, then blended my highlights/lowlights perfectly. The atmosphere is totally relaxed...no pretentions at all. And there was no pressure to do anything that I did not want. I 've finally found a home for my hair! Pros: fantastic highlights, flexible schedule, great care Cons: if you're looking for a sleek uppity place, this place might not be for you, but you'd be silly to miss out more

I had Nicole cut my hair once when my other hairdresser was away. Nicole did such a fantastic job that I'm switching to her full time. In fact, when I went back to my previous hairdresser after Nicole cut/colored my hair, my previous hairdresser was astonished. Couldn't believe what a nice job "someone else" had done. Nice compliment from a Newbury Street salon owner. Her salon is easy to get to, lots of parking - much better than making the trek downtown. I'm delighted to have found her. more

I first started going to see Nicole when I was fourteen years old, she has done everything to my hair from straightening, coloring, even to doing my hair for prom. Everytime I go to see her I know I'm getting the best. The updo she did for me for prom was AMAZING to say the least, and stayed together the entire night. I can trust her judgement as a stylist and a friend when I need an opinion on something new I am thinking of trying. She knows just about everything there is to know about hair so I never hesitate to ask her questions, whether I'm in seeing her or not i know I can call anytime I need to. Infact, when i tried dying my hair myself once and it was a disaster, I called her and she told me exactly what I needed to do to keep my the color from sinking in. I have every intention of continuing to see her even when I come home on vacation from college. If you want someone who knows it all, then she is the BEST. I actually found Nicole through citysearch and read all of the great reviews her clients gave her, so I thought I would call her for an appointment to fix my hair. Spoke to her on the phone and got an appointment right away, she was very pleasant. I have to say, she fixed my hair beautifully, and also fixed the bad haircut I received from another salon. I was there for three hours, and was offered refreshments, and magazines, which I did not read because everyone in the salon was talking to each other non-stop. I was my first time there, and I will definately be back, I have found a new stylist, and I am very happy. Pros: Great location, and flexible hours. more

I first starting going to Nicole in Belmont at Leon & Co., and have since followed her around to various salons in the Boston area. My first cut with her was 6 years ago when I decided to cut my very curly hair very short! She did an amazing job and I continued to keep that short curly style for a couple years. Now I have long hair again and I continue to see Nicole. Unlike so many stylists and colorists, Nicole LISTENS to what you want and makes it happen. At the same time, she always has great ideas if you just want something fun and different. I have gone through short curly hair, short chemically treated straight hair, and now long curly har that I blow-dry straight! Through all of those styles, Nicole has always been able to make my hair look amazing. Now I am trusting her for the most important day of my life...she is doing my hair for my wedding in June! more

Nicole is a very skilled colorist and stylist. She gives great individualized service- I have never been unhappy with a cut from her and my color always looks natural (have not been able to say that for other hairdressers that have been recommended to me in the area.) She is also friendly and accomodating to busy schedules and prices are reasonable. I know that I'm getting the latest products, styles, and techniques when I visit. I have been seeing Nicole for around 5 years now and have absolutely no plans to leave! more

First met Nicole when my colorist at Leon's moved back to Italy -- and have followed her ever since. She's a superb colorist, bar none! I'd say she rivals any colorist on Newbury St....plus parking is a breeze. more

Nicole is a wonderful colorist and stylist. I know from 10 years of appointments. I met Nicole back when I had bleached blonde dried out frizzy hair... it needed help. I had moved back to the Boston area from Florida. I spent that year looking for a good stylist; I had gone to 3-4 stylists with no luck (continued to get bleach blonde frizzed hair and bad haircuts). I made an appointment with Nicole, who was different; she talked to me about her passion for color, her training and her desire to know how the colors and chemicals work together taking into account a person?s hair color and texture. She then asked me and listened to me describe what I would like for my hair (I was thinking - I hope she's good - she sounds good). She evaluated my ideas, my hair color and texture and explained honestly what she thought she could do for me. From there she went to work to transform my dry locks and continues to care for my healthy hair today. She provides me with consistently good results. She continues her education and stays current on trends and uses the best products. Nicole is genuinely caring and confident in her abilities. She is honest and discreet. After a recent visit, I was stopped and complimented by a complete stranger on how beautiful my hair looked, I was so flattered. I give credit and thanks to Nicole! I 'inherited' Nicole because of a maternity leave for my previous stylist. I never looked back. She is really sharp, personable, a good listener, but also willing to encourage new ideas without piles of pressure. I've followed her to two salons, each farther from my home. She's been in Watertown for a few years, is staying put and I think making lots of her clients really happy. She can deal with many hair types, has a can-do attitude with a good outcome, and is a solid professoinal. more

I am very picky when it comes to my hair. I have always left the salon happy and looking great. Nicole takes time working on finding just the right color/cut for you. She has lots of patience and is always up to date on the latest looks. The Early morning and evening appointments are great for hectic schedules too! more
