I ate there based on reviews on the internet and getting off the turn pike theres a sign that says its the best BBQ in town.. WRONG! Cons: EVERYTHING

It doesn't get any better than this 9/20/2010

I travel a lot for business and this is one of the best places I've found along the way. What a great little local joint with always awesome food and in many many stops there I've never had a bad meal but I've had many extraordinarily memorable ones. If you're anywhere near Topeka, this place is worth a side trip. It's handy to the highway too so it doesn't take a map and GPS to get there. more

I grew up in Topeka and had no idea that I was living in one of the "barbeque capitals of the world" until I left. Topekans take places like Boss Hawg's for granted. I LOVE Boss Hawg's and make a point of going there every time I go home. The meats are well smoked and served naked so you can actually taste the flavor. Of course if you prefer your barbecue smothered in sauce, Boss Hawg's gives you three choices with which to do just that. Don't miss the baked beans; they're AMAZING! They are made with golden raisins. It may sound scary, but it makes for the best baked beans I've ever tasted! Don't miss this Topeka treasure! more
