My Favorite place 3/2/2012

I happened across the previous post and was sad to see it. This is one of my favorite restaurants. And no, I don't work for them. I tried the Border Cantina about 8 years ago after a friend suggested that we give it a try. We've literally eaten there about 4 times a month ever since. What do I like? The taste of the food first. Always good! They do use lots of cheese so keep that in mind when ordering. The price is great. The service is good. If you have kids, its a nice place to take them and feel comfortable. The place is always busy, but we rarely have to wait to get in. I think the success of the Cantina really speaks for its self. more

This place is extremely gross. The people who work there must of written the reviews posted. To start off the chips are cold and taste so so. The salsa is very blah and can like tasting. I ordered quesadillas and only could eat one piece even though I was starving. Tostada was even terrible. So I also ordered a burrito to go for my husband and when I got it home, he opened it up and it was a giant, heaping pile of nastiness. Unmelted cheese smothered across it and a big blob of I don't even know what, was tossed into the watery beans. Totally and utterly disgusting. BE WARNED!!!!!!! more

There is no substitute Border Cantina 9/3/2010

My husband and I discovered this place two years ago while randomly driving down the road. The food is excellent, the prices are very low, and the service is great. We've since left the area and have been trying to find as good of a place for mexican food, but nothing matches this restaurant. more

Great All Around Mexican Place 1/9/2009

I'm a frequent customer to Border Cantina. Good food; at a pretty good value; really good variety. I don't think I have ever had anything I didn't like.....try the Monterray Salad if you want to avoid a big-heavy-fat meal. The house margaritas are pretty good, but I usually stick with a Sol or Corona. Good service all around. Great atmosphere in the little bar area - its a good size and you can certainly enjoy a meal there. Recently we noticed the refried beans in the food were different - very bland and tasteless. Hopefully, this is not a permanent change. Pros: You can count on the food overall Cons: Chips and Salsa are just OK. more

I have not found any outstanding Mexican restaurants in Metro-Detroit, and I shall keep searching until I do! But I must admit, when I am tired of being disappointed yet again, I go to Border Cantina for the decent food, good drinks, and outstanding service. A reliably good meal. more

The food here is excellent, I recommend the Chimichangas, they are wonderful! And $7.50 for a TOP SHELF margarita can't be beat, especially when only one can get you buzzed! Pros: inexpensive, good parking Cons: smoking section more

and I did not care if anyone was watchin! You can't beat this place for service and .............well lets just say Yummy Food. Pros: Fast Service, Good Food, Inexpensive Cons: Not Romantic more
