Fair service and labor rates, but grossly overcharged for parts. 2/14/2013

Took my car in for a water pump replacement. As a NAPA Auto Care Center I would expect their part prices would be similar to what the local NAPA store charges. I WAS WRONG. I was charged $325 for a new water pump while the local NAPA store sells THE SAME new waterpump for $135. I was charged $60 each for two accessory belts that the local NAPA store less for $23. I was charged $35 for a thermostat that the NAPA store sells for $15. I have taken my cars to Boradori for over 10 years and trusted their reputation and quality unquestionably. Although their labor prices are fair, I was very disappointed by the price gouging on their replacement parts. more

After a recent experience would no longer recommend. 10/5/2012

I had been going to Boradori for around 10 years without any problems, and had recommended them to everyone. Recently I had an issue with them though that they are not taking responsibility for, and I no longer would recommend them. There was an issue with the cooling system on my car. When they worked on it, whoever worked on it did not "burp" the cooling system, so they did not clear all the air that accumulates when they work on the cooling system. The car began to overheat again, so I brought it back for them to work on it and the same thing happened. The fellow Josh even acknowledged that he didn't do it the second time because he was busy and forgot. I would not recommend Josh, he's probably good at other things but he didn't do his job right here. more

Honest people dedicated to serving the community. 8/29/2012

I appreciate how honest they are at Boradori. They're knowledgeable and explains things in a way I can understand it. They did a 50,000 mile service for me, and caught a leakage in the breaks. Had they not done that and if I took it to a regular oil change place they wouldn't have caught that. more

If I drove a different car, I'd definitely go back! 8/3/2012

I haven't been to Boradori Automotive in a few years, but if I drove a different type of car, I'd definitely go back. I drive a Mercedes now, and it requires specific mechanical attention. However, the people at Boradori are terrific and do excellent work. I really liked them. They are very nice and friendly. They honestly stand behind the work they do. I did have one bad experience there, but it was taken care of and I would go back, and highly recommend them to others. more

Good work, but not cheap. 7/16/2012

They do a good job, but they run over the estimate a lot, and they don't always call you to notify you about going over the estimated price. That's why I rated them down one point. They go ahead and do the work, then you get a surprise bill when you get the car. Just make sure you have them call you to tell you if the work is going to go over the estimate before they do it. more

Very friendly 5/30/2012

We take our cars to Boradori Automotive. They are a contract provider from the state. They always make appointments for us quickly. Sometimes they don't get back to us as quickly as we would like, in terms of what's going on with the cars. Boradori Automotive is very friendly and service is very good. RESPONSE FROM Boradori Automotive: Dealing with State vehicles requires us to deal with a State inspector at times which causes most of the time delays getting things done. more

If I'm ever in trouble I go to Boradori. 4/30/2012

One story will sum up what kind of mechanic Jack Boradori is. About 40 years ago I bought a used car and the carburetor setting was just not right. Four times I took it to get fixed with a different mechanic and he never got it fixed. Finally I went to another mechanic, Jack, and he got fixed. Of course he had to figure out what the right setting was and he did, on the first time I took it to him. He gets the job done and done right. He always does right by me. Since the time I took my car to him, it started running fine. He has been my mechanic since. Jack knows all about cars. For decades he has been training guys that just end up leaving him to set up their own shops. He's the master though. Now a days I don't drive very far. My wife and I have a new car and it doesn't need work done on it like previous cars, but if I ever need mechanical work done on my car, that is where I am taking it. more

Knowledgeable, reliable service I've used for 30 years 4/4/2012

I have been using Boradori Automotive for about 30 years now and wouldn't keep going back if I didn't think it was worth it-so obviously I think they are great. I had some car trouble and had gone to a competitor about 4 times before I realized they were not going to figure out how to fix my car. That is when I went to Boradori Auto and they realized I had a spark plug timing problem. Jack Boradori is very knowledgeable and reliable-he used to work on racecars. I highly recommend them and will continue using them. more

I am generally happy with Boradori Automotive's services but I ran into a problem where they took it in and it was an entirely different problem. For a long time I was satisfied, but when they missed a thing or two, I switched to another company. more

Boradori Automotive is just really good to work with. It is a very good company. I have taken my vehicle in there because my husband passed away and I had to have the trail hitch on the back removed because I was trying to sell it. They took me in right away, without even an appointment, and got it all taken care of for me. They bent over backwards to help me, and they have always been very helpful. more

Trustworthy and responsible. 8/29/2011

I've been using Boradori Automotive's service since 1999. I have two cars, one I bought brand new from the dealer and Boradori has been servicing it the day I bought it. I didn't even bother taking it to the dealer even though it was under warranty. My other car, I also bought from the dealer and have taken it to them from the point that I owned it. I just trust Boradori. To me, they are like a doctor for my cars. They keep up with my service and let me know what I'm due for. They know my cars, they know my cars history and what treatment plans they're on. A good doctor is hard to come by! I am a picky person about my cars, and so far they are both in excellent working condition. I have recommended them to my friends. I do like that they have someone there at all times now, which is very convenient to me! more

Very competent and fair. 7/29/2011

I think I've been doing business at Boradori Automotive for 25 years. I've recommended them to other people and they have been happy with them too. Usually I hate recommending anything because it always comes back, and it hasn't this time. The good thing about them is that they will talk to you about the repairs and what's going on, whereas some repair shops won't. I do a lot of my own work, and they'll talk to me if I'm doing my own too, walking me through it. After working on my cars and seeing the work they do, I'm very happy. more

They can fix what others can't. 7/5/2011

I bought my latest vehicle in 2001, and Boradori Automotive is the only place I have ever taken it for service. They are really fair about their prices, and do a good job of advising me as to how to keep my car in good shape. My wife and I both bring our cars there. We are really satisfied. The people at Boradori are very firendly, and always offer me a ride to get me where I need to be. I feel comfortable there, and know that I will be treated well when I go in. I've lived in Chico for 35 years, and have tried many different local mechanics. After using Boradori, I've never considered going anywhere else. more
