I just took my daughter here for the first time to buy her senior prom gown and the place was amazing. Tons of choices and the prices were great. The whole staff was friendly, especially Tiana who helped us pick out the perfect items and Stephen who was also very helpful. I didn't get any other names, but great job everyone! more

Hi, my name is Judayah and I love Boom Babies. Around this time last year I began the search for the perfect dress for my Sweet Sixteen. I decided earlier in the month that my party's theme would be a Black & White Masquerade Ball. I wanted everyone to show up in plain colors so my dress would clearly contrast. Ideally, I was looking for a short, fun look. Actually, I had an aqua-mirror Sherri Hill dress in mind. Every store I tried was fresh out of stock with the dress! Just my luck right? One of my fellow marching band members gave me the tip to try Boom Babies in Syracuse, NY. I had never heard of the store, as I am from a much smaller town also located in New York. But because I'm adventurous, I tried it anyway. Can I tell you that every Sherri Hill dress I had seen online was in your store? May I please inform everyone that Boom Babies hires only the most cordial, helpful, and fashion-inclined workers? From the moment I walked in I felt like I was a priority. My dressing room assistant brought maybe 20 dresses in for me to try on. I felt like I was literally in heaven! A part about Boom Babies that I love, however, is how much I learn about myself in each visit. As said before, I was looking for a short and fun dress. The last dress the assistant bought me is the one in the picture provided. In the bag I thought to myself: I hate this dress. Why am I trying on this dress? I'm going to look so ugly in this dress. But she asked me to trust her, and so I did. I don't know how she knew, it was the only floor-length dress I had tried on that day, but this gown was gorgeous. Prior to, I have never felt so beautiful in my skin. I was guaranteed to be a Princess and I looked fabulous. This is what I love most about Boom Babies, the beautiful surprises. I came in to look for a dress for a school dance last week and was surprised at the big selection! The girls working there were very helpful, I was assisted by one in particular but was offered help by a few others. I tried on a variety of dresses: beaded, flowy, poofy, slim fitting...I went with a blue beaded dress that I LOVE! The girl assisting me then continued to help me as I found shoes and we discussed how I should wear my hair. It was a great experience, this is definently a one stop shopping place! I came in with just an idea and didnt expect to walk out confidently with a beautiful ensamble! more

I was visiting SU from CT for an open house a couple weeks ago and was told about Boom Babies. I decided to stop in and take a look at their prom dresses. For a small store, they have a ton of dresses!!! All the girls working there were very helpful and got me dresses in my size which I had been having trouble finding in other stores (I'm a 0). I went in wanting a leopard print dress and ended up falling in love with a high-low beaded dress. The dress is amazing!!! Even though I'm from out of state, they still keep a prom registry so no one from your school can get your dress! I will certainly be back to Boom Babies and it def will help me make my decision as to where to go to college :) more

I have recently been searching for the perfect prom dress; my first stop was Spy Babies. I was met with zero help from the people who work there and hardly a selection. My mom and I left shortly after entering and went straight to Boom Babies. I was met with thousands of dresses to choose from and the best customer service i have ever experienced. All of the employees seemed busy but always made time to answer my questions and help me pick out the perfect dress. I can hardly wait to show it off at prom, this is the go to place!!! more

My Daughter and I are "" Big Girls"" and I have to say We were treated with care and made to feel comfortable in what i can only describe as the best dress shop within 3hrs of My home . or anywhere for that matter. It feel bad for the Girls that work there as it seemed the day we where there is was VERY BUSY (Avoid weekends ! LOL! ) and a bit of a long wait. Some of the customers were openly hostile and cranky . It is a wait , but they really do work hard to make You look Your best and have many options. I mentioned their other store Spy Babies to the owner and was told they get confused . I can see the ""You don't belong "" attitude at Spy Babies as we were ignored looking at worn dresses . I have worked in P.R. for over 20 years and find it hard to believe all the negative reviews , This place is a jewel ! more

I had heard about this store from a friend who loved it. A few weeks ago she and I were out shopping for a new wardrobe (I've recently lost about 75 lbs.). We walked in and one of the girls working there came up and said, ""oh, hon you don't belong here. We don't have anything for someone your size."" The other girl (I don't know if she was a customer or another employee) just laughed. HORRIBLE PEOPLE SKILLS!!! not to mention customer service. I will not (!!!!) recommend this store to anyone! more

We started out looking in the malls between the Canadian border and Syracuse. We had no luck anywhere. The employees at the at least 15 other stores we had went to kept telling us to go to Boom Babies. The next day we finaly made it down there. When we walked in there was dresses everywhere. The first thing the two of us thought was ""there is now way we are leaving here without a dress""! We were greated nicely and tended to immediately. Mari was our girl! She helped us with everything. She even gives hugs when you get frustrated with your own size.She never gave up and made sure she looked after us properly. At one point another employee came to relieve her for her lunch break and she turned it down to complete what she had started with us. Our experience here was AWSOME and we both walked out with a prom dress that we loved! My daughter and I went to Boom Babies last week to find her first prom dress. As she was just starting to look a month before prom, I wanted a store that would still have a good selection. We had been warned that on weekends, you could be waiting in line for a dressing room for 2 hours, so we went around dinnertime on a Thursday evening. We had also been told that the salespeople can be rather snotty. We were pleasantly surprised in both instances. We were approached by more than one friendly salesperson who secured us a dressing room and asked my daughter some questions about her typical dress size and style preferences. We picked out a few dresses from the enormous, overwhelming selection, but our salesgirl kept bringing us more dresses, and giving us her positive, but honest, feedback on each dress. My daughter tried on about 15 dresses before making her selection. We were not steered toward the most expensive dress; in fact, the dress that my daughter ultimately loved and chose was the least expensive of the bunch. Boom Babies also carries an extensive line of prom accessories. Our salesgirl helped her pick out shoes, jewelry, and a purse while still wearing her dress; however, she did not push us to look at these items. Maybe we could have found better prices on these items; however, we were able to get the total effect with the dress. I had expected to spend a minimum of $200-$300 on her dress. However, our total for dress, shoes, matching earrings and necklace, and purse, with tax, was $269! Total time in the store: about 1 1/2 enjoyable hours. My advice would be to avoid weekends and vacation days, as our experience was absolutely perfect! Pros: Huge selection, excellent service Cons: Small space, no restrooms more

My daughters have purchased their prom dresses from Boom Babies for the past 3 years. The merchandise is always in beautiful condition unlike almost every other shop in the Syracuse area that sells formal dresses. This is why Boom Babies has the rules that they do, and why previous reviewers were unhappy! Do yourself a favor - if you don't do hectic well, don't go on a day off from school or a Saturday; best selection in town results in lots of people anxious to shop their store! Follow their system & handle the dresses as they ask you to, and everyone will be happy! Love the place! Pros: Best selection in town! Cons: Learn their system when you enter the store! more

This was my first real school dance. I went to go and find my dress and it was horrible. A ton of people in a small place, dresses everywhere, no one helping or paying attention... Then when i actually picked a dress a women grabbed it out of my hands with the jewlery i had. Cons: one of the most horrible stores ever!!! more

My sister recently took her daughter here to get a dress.. The staff was RUDE! first off my sister was in a horrible car accident 5 months around and is just starting to get around on crutches... The staff was yelling at her for standing in their walkway. Then when she was on her cell phone to get her ride to come pick them back up she was yelled at and told of their no cell phone policy.. Maybe they should take all their negativity and turn it into something useful like making their store handicap accessible.. Glad she didn't try to come in their with her wheel chair. I'm just sad that she even wasted her money on a hole like that to continue to pay the wadges of ignorant people like that! The other week i went to boom babies in a hurry to find the perfect prom dress. I went with my mother and best friend. I had no idea what i was looking for. I found a few dresses, tried them on but i did not find one i really liked. I wanted my dress to be one that i had fallen in love with. This was my first prom so i didnt really know what i was doing. But, then my mom found a dress. It was a purpleish pink color and i didnt really like pink so i didnt think i would like the dress. However, when i put that dress on it was perfect. Perfect fit, color, size and it made me look beautiful. The dress also had some sort of rhine stone accesory going right under the breasts. So when employee of the store approached my mother and me, she said some accesories would go very nice with it. She helped us find the perfect shoes and bracelet while my mom found the perfect earings. The dress was even at reasonable value. The women who helped us was so helpful!! Words can not express how perfect she made the outfit. Everything went together so nicely. Then while we were checking out we had forgotten the hand bag! I approached the women and she came right over to the stand and asked what i liked and picked out a couple bags. She then came to the register and showed me them and at the same time my mom and I chose the same one. It was perfect. We checked out, had all of our purchases and the dress was bagged and ready to go. I was so happy when i left because i knew i found the dress for me and that my first prom would the best. P.S. the store has a registry so i was assured that at my prom i would not have the same dress as someone else going to!! Went with my daughter to find a prom dress. We went into a fitting room and a very rude young lady told us we could not go in there without being ""put"" into the room. No signs were posted to announce this fact and the belittling manner of this ""person"" was very offensive. We will never go to this vile store again. And remember instant karma's gonna get you!! more

after jut moving to the area from nyc, this store is such a joke! all the clothes come straight from 7th ave for $5 marked up to $75. the quality, cut, and colors are already a good 1-2 years out of style. You can buy the same stuff in any low end boutique in new york for a fraction of the price. the people working here are annoying following you around and pointing out one horrid fashion disaster after another. they have a list of rules too which is ridiculous. basically small town americas look for ""fashion"" falls FLAT. forever 21 has better made clothes than these sweatshop rags!\r \r ALSO they barely sell ANY vintage which the name suggests, which is the reason i stepped foot into this fashion catastrophe! a friend of my got drunk one night and she way out of her mind. she slip and fell in some mud and say that a boy wipe it on her. she was very loud too. everybody that saw her was laughing their butts off. the next day she claim the same thing. i was like why would you stand there for some boy to wipe mud on you. and she was like that she dont know. so therefor you was drunk off of mr.boston and you decided to go for a walk. not just a normal walk but a walk on the wall. some how some way you flew in the mud. when you was about to get up you was confuse. when you woke up in the morning you couldnt remember anything. and when you went to get out f the bed the room was spinning and you had a major headache.
