I ordered a custome dining room set in mid-July and was verbally told by the condesending owner that it would take approx. 6-8 weeks. They explained that it was being fabricated in Canada and that they wait for a full truck to deliver. Fine. When I looked at my receipt later - he had written down ""8-10 weeks?"" but I was not told that...It is now 16 WEEKS and I have to call them everyday for the status and keep getting told that they ""HAVE NO IDEA""...so now my Holiday gatherings have been ruined and I cannot get a refund on my deposit because it is a custom made item. Bond Dinettes has the largest selection of furniture, HONEST staff, and the LOWEST prices. I have bought both an indoor dining and an outdoor dining set over the past 6 years and have had no problems with either or the customer service. Having worked in retail myself...I cannot believe the comments I am reading on this site. First of all...If your furniture is late it is not the fault of the store. They are the middle man . the Factories are to BLAME!!!. They tell you what they are told by the factory and no matter how late the factory producesyour furniture, the transaction must be completed and the store looks like the liar. Like many of us, factories are hurting as well. Unfortunately, the only ones to blame for our economic status is OURSELVES!!!!!!. Don't take your anger out on small businesses, especially the ones that keep YOUR COMMUNITY GOING!!! .As far as the bitter employee...shame on you ...I wouldn't want you as my employee. My mother always said, EVERY STORY HAS TWO SIDES and IF THEY BACK STAB YOU, THEY WILL BACK STAB ME!!!. I have also noticed that this is not the only store you have done that to!!!!! I worked for Bond Dinettes and I can agree with the customers. Stephen P. , the older owner of the two gives the worse customer service ever! The prices aren't the lowest and I have caught them in their own lies. I was told once by Steve, the younger of the two owners to look around for competitors with better prices. When Stephen saw I was lowing the prices, he yelled at me! He told me that unless the customer mentions a lower price, never to tell them there is a lower price. He would yell at customers in front of other customers as well as yell at employees for mistakes he committed himself! The service is horrible and half the time what they delivery are items that were on the showroom that had scraps that Stephen would cover with furniture polish in the back. He was a furniture maker by trade and he knows how to make customers think things are new. The 50 year rep is not his! The 50 years of good service belongs to the original owner that he bought the store from. Their definition of free delivery is charging a gas surcharge. The majority of the happy customers that go in there are happy because of a set they purchased under the old management and when they see how things have changed, their mind changes too. Pros: None. I ordered a dinette set with 6 chairs and 2 bar stools. I paid in full and was told my delivery would be at my home in 6-8 weeks. That was on July 13th 2008. It is now October 23rd and I still have not received my items. Pros: large selection Cons: no customer service, rude workers, high prices more
