Bon Buffet Restaurant

I had to stop and write a True Review after reading the others. I am a medical professional and meticulously hygienic, therefore, there are few places at which I go to eat. I've been a patron of the Bon Buffet for 20+ years averaging 3 visits per month. NEVER did I have a problem with the service or cleanliness of this establishment. I have also had family gatherings in the private party rooms and received 5 star treatment. I recommend highly to those whom want good, fresh and a wide variety of foods at a VERY good price. Bon Buffet ,thought it was a great place for the money ,good food,was close for me,spacious rooms,what got me was the carving station they had.found that the service isnt worth the trip over there,problems i encountered were,slow to bring out another pc to carving station,guy just stands there and waits to get rid of the unwanted fatty pc thats left , wait it out eventually,may take half hour to 45 minutes they break down and bring more out.Guess they want you to eat like a bird so they make better profits,not leaving hungry....Also ask for more than two slices[say four] its like they dont understand you,have to argue just to save a trip back up there....if you eat more than they think you should they actually line up against wall and watch you eat [swear to god its true] lastly when i was walking out with my family a small waitress grabbed me by the arm,WHERES MY TIP??? Said its on table on side of dish where i sat,could not believe the rudeness.Havent been back since,too bad used to love going there. with the family,Many parties were there.Now go to lodi or wherever. Pros: good selection of foods Cons: hard to get foods from carving station/slow to bring more out/horrible parking,have you park across essex st. more

Truthfully, The Bon Buffet is like many other buffet style restaurants that have so much food in so many varieties on display at self service stations, that you can't possibly sample it all. Look for zero ambiance, zero frills. This is a serious gastic throwdown. There are separate stations for salads and for fruit, but 95% of the clientele is there for the rich comfort foods, and that's par forthe buffet course with everything from ribs, lasagna, fried chicken to crab legs, fish and of course, a variety of chinese food. Thedael is that for one entree price ( and a flat rate for unlimited soda refills) you can eat until you pass out. There is also a dessert table. Moderationis best, but then, you would not be in a place like this if moderation was the aim. Remember, you arefree to roam - eat all lasagna if you want, plate after plate. Or pile your plate high with crab legs, to the dismay of the poor soul waiting behind you. Just remember when you have to roll yourself out of there, that you've been warned. I would advise Diabetics with poor willpower to choose a different venue. Pros: Very wide variety of food can all be sampled for one price. Cons: It's all you can eat, so bring the Pepto and wear loose pants more
