Looking through some of the reviews made me a little nervous about dining at Shem Creek Bar & Grill. I'm so glad I went anyway. I dined during SEWE and the restaurant was packed. We had to wait for about 15 minutes for a table, but that isn't unlike any other restaurant in the area. We got an adorable booth in the oyster bar, over looking Shem Creek, and it was so cozy. My husband and I each at a cup of the she crab soup, which was truly the best I've ever eaten. We also had some of the silver dollar crab cakes for an appetizer, which were also delicious. My husband got the shrimp and grits and I got the seafood a la wando (if I recall the name correctly). Both meals we incredible, and the portions were more than generous. I wanted to get the fried snickers banana split for dessert (which sounded devine) but I didn't have the room. Overall, it was an excellent experience. Good wine, awesome service, amazing food. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.
