Worst

My fiance ordered Scallop but only 4 small scallops were served. The portions were too small for anyone. The food was mediocre and overpriced. I wouldn't go this place for dinner....

Just perfect 2/15/2008

Headed to this place for drinks after bailing on 1912 (@ the Beverly Hills Hotel) and it saved the night. Service was impeccable, drinks were good, ambience was just right -- not too loud, but full enough to be lively. Small, cozy, not a gross meet market. Perfect lounge spot. Pros: Service, ambience. Cons: None. more

If you're looking for a new favorite find, you have to try Boe at the Crescent! Pros: Drinks, Menu, Service more

Like hanging out in my friends' back yard! 7/18/2007

I recently found this restaurant in The Crescent Hotel, and I'm now a die-hard fan! I came with a bunch of co-workers for an after-work drink, and found an amazingly relaxed, casual, yet trendy place. The happy hour drinks and appetizers were creative with their 'seven deadly sins' theme, and the LUST martini of white chocolate and raspberry was SO delicious. I can't even begin to talk about the rest of their appetizers without mentioning the garlic herb fries....TO DIE FOR! We stayed around way past dark, to find it transformed into a perfect evening hang-out with candles, great music, fireplace, and employees who interacted with us as if we were hanging out with them in their own homes. I have been back too many times to mention since that first visit, and always find it quaint and charming, keeping us drinking, eating, and laughing the entire time. It may be off the main Beverly Hills drag by a block or two, but WELL worth it! Not to mention, the employees AND crowd are always attractive....gotta love it! Pros: great crowd, familiar service, happy hour, garlic fries, lust martini Cons: no live music more

nice setting, uninspired food 10/10/2006

It's a nice place for after-work drinks and a bite to eat. But don't expect out-of-the-box thinking here. Everything here seems regurgitated and very carbon-copy L.A. e.g. Dodd Mitchell design, $14 martinis, tuna tartare... Pros: ambience, service Cons: been there, done that more

Boring scene but attractive outdoor location 5/26/2006

Upscale, comfortable indoor/outdoor restaurant and bar, but lacking a crowd on a Friday night. Great BH location. Staff was very nice, but not very prompt. Interesting drink list, but drinks are weak and expensive. $13 for a martini or mojito. Food was average at best. Would not recommend going here for dinner. Consider Boe for a quite, late night drink on their outdoor sofas. more

Service was very good but..... 12/2/2005

BH Jewel...GREAT ambiance, fun drinks 11/20/2005

We booked Boe for my husband's bday recently and am very happy we chose this place. I had reserved the outside patio area by the fireplace, which is the best seat in the house as far as I'm concerned. We ordered all sorts of appetizers, including their garlic fries which are excellent, and some of their fun drinks. Boe is a sleek and inviting loungy restaurant/bar. It felt like you were in someone's posh backyard and the music wasn't too loud which was great b/c we could actually hear each other talk! We had the smores for dessert which everyone loved. The staff is all nice, which is refreshing in LA! I would definitely recommend this place for a group or a romantic night out. Plus you can always book a room there and just stay the night! Pros: valet parking, beautiful decor, nice staff more

Truly A Wonderful Experience 6/10/2005

I came to BOE at the Crescent hotel as a guest of a friend for a birthday celebration. I expected decent food, pretty good atmosphere, and OK service. However, to my surprise, I found absolutely amazing and unique american food, a fantastic welcoming atmosphere, with individualized thorough service. I didn't even know that this place existed! This place is truly a treat, from the minute that you walk into the very attractive modern/sleek embience to the minute that you leave with friendly valets wishing you a great night and safe drive home. I mean does this really sincerely happen in LA? Did I mention the random celebrity sightings? :) Pros: food, service, atmosphere more

What a Waste 4/11/2005

Let me preface by saying I am NOT a picky eater, nor am I a snob that has diva-like requirements of their wait staff. That being said, I was more than highly disappointed with Boe considering all the rave reviews. Our waitress, though extremely friendly, didn't have a clue what was going on all night (1menu for four people, couldnt answer questions regarding the menu, etc, couldnt open or pour champagne, never refilled our empty water glasses until dessert, etc.) I ordered the ""chef's favorite"" sea scallops, only to be greeted with four scallops that had zero flavor (I have never used so much salt in my life!) My date had the beef shortribs, which could have been described as ""fat with a side of pot roast-like beef."" With so many fab restaurants in LA, don't waste your time here. Pros: couches at table, clean aesthetic, prompt valet Cons: awful food, clueless wait staff, limited menu more

Above and beyond my highest expectations 12/8/2004

This place is under the radar, and very chic. The interior/exterior is beautiful, contemporary, and intimate. The atmosphere is alluring with a wide variety of upscale patrons. The staff is eager to please, and are all genuinely nice, upbeat people, which is hard to find in these parts. The food is definately some of the best around. I particularly enjoyed the s'mores desert where you get your very own little fire to roast your marshmellows and make your own s'mores. It's fun and very tasty. They also have a wide variety of cocktails, martinis, and wine to choose from. I had the 'Sex Kitten' cocktail which was so good that I wanted to lick the glass out when I was done, but didn't. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to have a good time, enjoy delicious food, and receive impecable service. Pros: delicious food/drinks, alluring atmosphere, impecable service more

What a disappointment. 2/10/2004

The ambiance and decor is the only thing this place has going for it. It is very comfy and stylish and the indoor/outdoor fireplaces were a nice touch. However, they should have more heat lamps for the patio patrons. We made a reservation and were seated promptly in the ""dining room"". We ordered the food at 7:30 pm and appetizers did not come out until 8:30 pm (after we complained twice). I had to wait 45 min. for sugar. Those so-called garlic fries were terrible. They came out overfried and cold. Our entrees came out 15 min. later. Overall horrible food, management, and kitchen staff. Inexperienced wait staff. They should do away with serving food completely and try to market this place as strictly a lounge. When waiting for my car at valet, 2 other parties were also complaining about the same things. What a disappointment. Pros: ambiance, decor Cons: , horrible management more

Too Good to Stay a Secret 1/11/2004

I really liked this place. The server we had last night was so sweet and friendly in a professional way. The food was very good and it was crowded with people who seemed to be having a good time. It didn't have an uptight feeling at all. In fact people were sitting by the fire on the big shag rug having drinks and a good time. Very different scene for Beverly Hills - just what this town needs. Good feeling, good food, low key. Pros: excellent dinner, fun drinks, good environment Cons: try parking on street more

FANTASTIC!! 12/30/2003

Went there tonight for the first time. They had tables inside by the fireplace and it was a really cool vibe - the food and service were great. The girl who served us was hot! I tried an unbelievable drink, it was blue but I forgot the name of it. My girlfriend liked the shrimp dish a lot. Go there. Very, very good scene. Pros: friendly service, cool drinks, good vibes more

Like an upscale student coffee shop 12/22/2003

Slow and hapless service, the absence of any visible management and disorganized seating make patrons feel that they've wandered into a student-run coffee shop, operated by freshmen on financial aid for whom this is their first-ever job experience. The food is decent but the menu is limited to an eclectic mix of tapas. Definitely more lounge than restaurant, table seating is minimal. Not a destination in times of rain or cold weather: The vast majority of dining space is outdoors, perhaps the equivalent of 3 couches and one large table of seating is indoors by a nice fireplace. Pros: Convenient valet, Appendage to a hotel, Good "tapas" Cons: Awful service, Disorganized seating, Sparse, weak crowd more

great 10/22/2003

I Love this place- the indoor/outdoor fireplace is beautiful- great decor and gret mojitos! Pros: beautiful, cool crowd, good drinks Cons: expensive, dress warm more
