I'd give this place 4.5 stars, if I could figure out how to do it.
I had been wanting to try 'real' Pilates (not the junk on DVD) for a while, and so I poked around, researching for a studio that was:
-inexpensive
-credible/effective
-friendly
-fully equipped
I found Body Endeavors, which completely fit the bill. :) I corresponded with the owner over email to schedule an appointment, which was easy & helpful.
Body Endeavors has an option for you to do private classes (which they recommend before you do semi-private or group classes) with an apprentice, making it much more affordable. When there was no apprentice open for me, I was able to opt for a package of 5 half-hour classes for only $190. Now this means I'm able to do Pilates twice a week (yay!), but it also means I have to really focus & work hard during that half hour!
Their facilities are small, but comfortable, and they are well-equipped with all the Pilates machines & mats, etc. that one could want. My instructor Anna is great--she pushes me just enough. Sometimes she gives the instruction rather quickly, and it takes my brain a second to register what the next exercise is, but I'm getting better!
The only down-side I see is their changing room--it is very small, and people have to take turns in there. If someone's in the room, you just have to wait until they're done. But if that's your major beef with a Pilates studio, you're doing pretty well. I definitely recommend these guys!
