Body Boutique Women's Fitness

This place is a nightmare to cancel with. They hire out a billing company with which they seem to have no communication, right hand doesn't talk to the left hand. I opted to pay my fees in cash which I was told I could do until I started getting invoices from a billing company that were overcharging me, however, this can't be worked out with Body Boutique because they ""don't have anything to do with the billing company."" Tried to call and cancel my account 45 days in advance, called 4 times to ask if I could come in and pay my due balance in cash or give a credit card and was told no, it had to be paid online. But online automated email said ""do not reply to this email""....left not knowing how to solve the problem I called on the 31st of August wanting the end of September to be my last billing (contract says give 30 days notice) and was told that I needed to do that at the end of July... so contract should say ""60 day notice."" Regardless, on August 31st the girl on the phone said that I could not come in and pay to close my account that I would have to make an appointment with someone on the 2nd! Of course, this meant that I got charged for another month and she took my money. So why did they tell me that they couldn't do that when I called in all of the previous times that would have saved me from another fee? Thievery. Never get yourself involved in this mess. If you work out to reduce stress they'll make sure you leave frazzled. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere with accountable accounting. more

I like the child care workers, but child care is an issue in the summer when they stop allowing children over seven during daytime hours. The instructors are really good and very enthusiastic. The weight equipment downstairs seem to need to be oiled and maintained a bit more regularly. Things stick. more

Ive been a member of Body Boutique for 14 years. I cannot imagine working out anywhere else. The daycare IS clean and I know from being there so long that they DO clean regularly. The staff in the daycare is wonderful - we use them as sitters all the time. \r \r And you will NOT get better classes ANYWHERE in Lawrence. Hands down, the best instructors in town. \r \r I love this place. The women I have met there are now great friends of mine. The staff is motivating and fun. I truly love working out because of belonging here. \r more

I joined BB last February! I go to the gym at least 5 or 6 times a week! The staff is so friendly and helpful. I have three kiddos who use the gym daycare and attend fit kid classes! My kids don't let me skip a day even if I want to because they LOVE the daycare and fit kid classes! And they love their teachers/daycare staff! I love the fact the gym is all women and they all have one goal in common...to get fit and be healthy! I think all the personal trainers are great and I love my trainer, Natalie who continues to push me and support me! The locker room is always so clean and the machines get serviced as needed! I wouldn't be 90lbs lighter without this amazing gym, staff, Natalie and the friends I've made at the gym!! Join this awesome gym today and look forward to a FIT tomorrow!!!! more

The facility is alright, but they really go to a distance to make sure they get the most money from you, and there is nothing you could do to stop them. \r \r First of all, to join the gym, you have to sign a year contract. Yes, they will tell you what sweet deals that they have in store for you. But always ask the details. Because those fine prints are the ones that will get you later on (and they are quite ridiculous, so make sure you know them all). \r \r The building is small, they only have a set of weight machines, and few cardio machines upstairs. The classes are in the middle of everything, and open. So if you like doing your exercise in peace, do not go here because it can get really noisy with the music and the class instructors' yells. The ambiance is quite dark, which I don't really like (sometimes the lights above the cardio machines are not working, which made it even more darker and annoying). Some of the staffs are very nice, but most of them are quite rude and snobs. \r \r The childcare system gives me a mix feelings. The idea is quite nice, but the practice is not. I don't know exactly if they clean the toys regularly, but everytime I put my tot in there, she always got a bad cold. Always. To the point that I hesitated in putting her back in there. 7 days of bad cold, one day of not having any cold, back in the daycare, the next day the sniffles are back, then the thick green mucus. And so on. I have to admit that some of the childcare staffs are really, really friendly and helpful. There are a couple of them though, that looked like they hate kids and dragging their legs to work. Maybe they hate the job, maybe it is a hard job(the childcare room could be filled with 30 kids at one time ranging from infant to 12 yo with only 3 staffs). \r \r Important thing to know, your agreement says how many time (months) you have to pay, and there is an AUTO-RENEWAL with your agreement (to stop this and quit, you have to write a letter to them and send it with a certified mail). And there is also the 90-days notification. So know when you want to quit, otherwise you will be forced to pay 3 months worth of membership. And that 90-days rule also apply to other add-on services like childcare, even if is NOT WRITTEN in my contract (what, they need to clean the room first like an apartment or find a good candidate to replace your kid like a job, that they need 90 days notification? Or simply a way to get more money from you).\r \r P.S. Apparently I have about 5 college friends who got burnt by their ridiculously ripping contracts. They were still in their early 20s (not even 23). Please, not everyone has 50 years experiences dealing with sharks. So I guess Body Boutique also serves as a learning tool for kids who barely left the safety of their homes and their sheltering parents, and who barely made any money. Be proud, Body Boutique.\r \r P.S.S. And those nice bubly ladies in front desk who show you their whole sets of their teeth when you were about to join the gym? They turned into rude rigid beyotches when you ask them anything about stopping membership. more

Great gym, great trainers, friendly staff. The locker room is always spotless. There has been some issues with cardio machines going months needing repairs but they do have a lot of machines so it's not that big of a deal. The only thing I don't like is the small size! They really could use a nice big expansion and I think they are successful enough to do it! I don't like how the cardio machines are on the 2nd floor - after a tough workout I worry about whether my jello legs can get me back down the stairs. Also the open class area makes it so you have to listen to the more annoying instructors - don't get me wrong, they are great at instructing but please do not sing badly along with the music! It's so loud I can hear it through my headphones. Overall, great gym (women-only) and I love going there! more

This place has new equiptment, and a lot of it! They have really neat water rowing machines, that gave me a total body workout! I also took the new body flow class and was amazed how it helped my mid section!
