I dont know if its because I know what Argentinian meats are suppose to taste like, or because the cooks were looking somewhere else, but I might as well have gone to a Wendys or ...

not not recomended 4/28/2011

I went to this restaurant a couple of weeks ago to tell you the true I won't ever ever go back there anymore, the service was ok the prices in the menu was so overpriced, a filet-mignon 12 ounces was $35, I can get a filet-mignon 13 ounces in Park Av for $33 in one of the best restaurants in NY more

Try the best Argentina has to offer in New York! 11/28/2009

I came with a group of friends for a late evening birthday celebration. The service was excellent and most importantly, the meat was delicious. I definitely recommend this restaurant. It is a special treat to anyone who loves soccer and is a fan of Boca Juniors. Pros: Great steak and friendly atmosphere Cons: None more

Boca's tops to this gringo 11/12/2009

I have been to eat many times at Boca Juniors. And have always found the food to be the best South American food in the city bar none.... The skirt steak & empnadas are as if you were sitting in Buenos Aires at a sidewalk cafe enjoying lunch or dinner. Their sangria is by far the best I've ever had & the service is outstanding. Friendly atmosphere.......... more

NO THIS PLACE IS THE BEST 6/20/2009

I'm not sure about the last comment but both times i went to this restaurant, the service was great. The food was extraordinary. The place is decked out for fans, but fan or not..the food is the main part that is amazing. I love Argentinian food and this was the best place I've ate at so far. Pros: Food, Service, Ambience more

The worst restaurant of New York!!! 3/4/2009

I am from Germany and I visited New York in February 2009. At the last day of our trip, we Cons: Waiter, Food, Price, Ambience more

Never Again! 9/5/2008

This place was noisy, dirty and the food was of very poor quality. Every 5 minutes they would blast some song for a few minutes which was funny at first but became annoying as it kept happing throughout the dinner. The food was not good; the meat especially was of poor quality and the olvie oil tasted spoiled. To top it all off the whole staff had a bad attitude. Cons: everything more

I was expecting more 8/29/2008

The food wasn't bad. The chorizo appetizers were a bit dry, the bife de chorizo was good, a little greasy. Definitely more expensive than it should be (Manhattan prices in Elmhurst). the prices were way too expensive and not much of a selection. The service wasn't as bad as many other people who posted. DO NOT PARK in the next door diner parlking lot as you will get it towed (it happened to us last night) more

I am not going back again 7/21/2008

Finally tried Boca Junior's after passing by so many times and was truly disappointed. The waiter was very friendly when we sat down, but once we gave our order - we never saw him again. Every table received bread and butter except ours. We had to ask for refills on our beverage and once I had my steak, I had to ask for the chimichurri sauce that would normally come with a skirt steak. Our waiter spent most of his time at the table next to ours and the difference in service was undeniable. I would not complain about the food but if you want good Argentinian cuisine, go to Jackson Heights. My friend and I will definitely not return to Boca Junior's when there is a wide selection of better restaurants in Queens. Pros: Decent food Cons: Expensive, poor service more

Decent place, horrible service 5/8/2008

I pass this place every Sunday on my way to church so I decided to try it one Sunday after chruch. I went this past Sunday and there happened to be a Boca Junior game on (Boca Junior is the name of an Argentinian soccor team) and the place was packed. The atmosphere was very lively and there was a lot of cheering so I rate it excellent. The food is above average but the price was a little high for the area. The service I would rates a poor though. It was a very slow but that was understandable with the packed house. However, I found it hard to believe that they serve lobster but don't have the tools for me to break the shell. Lastly, when I was leaving after I paid, the waiter chased me out the door claiming I didn't pay 15% tip. I paid more than 15% and he just did his math wrong. After I pointed that out to him, he just said ""oh"", turned around and went back in. I found it so rude that he actually chased me down and even ruder that he did not apologize for his mistake. I am never going back. Pros: Good Ambience - great if you are a Boca Junior fan Cons: slow and rude staff more

Come Eat & Be Merry @ Boca's 11/24/2007

My cousins and I frequently visit Boca's. We absolutely love every aspect of it. The food, the ambience, the service, the price and um, did I say the food? IF you're lookin' to eat while have a merry time, then come to Boca's. Pros: Exquisite Food, Drinks, Service, Pricing & Ambience..etc. more

Perfect dining experience 10/17/2007

My husband and I tried Boca's last Saturday for the first time. We were so pleased with the ambiance, (casual, bright and interesting) the friendly and attentive service, the delicious food (try the skirt steak) and the reasonable prices. We have already recommended Boca's to several friends and plan on returning this weekend. This is a place you will not be disappointed by. Pros: Excellent food and service. Cons: None. more

very nice 10/28/2006

Not really Argentinian meat. 10/22/2006

I dont know if its because I know what Argentinian meats are suppose to taste like, or because the cooks were looking somewhere else, but I might as well have gone to a Wendys or a Burger King to eat that quality of food. When you ask for ""Jugoso"" (bloody), and they burn your meat dry, you just know you'll not be able to enjoy your meal. The place is very inviting and properly decorated, but the food was my main concern, and I came out VERY disappointed. Service was OK, but if in a table of 6, 5 orders came overcooked, there is something DEFINETLY wrong. Bread was old, salads were soggy, overpriced wines, etc, but desert was superb and prices were cheap. I dont think I'll be returning tho, loved the restaurant name, but that was it. Pros: Price, Service Cons: Quality of food, cleanness, loud music more

GOL!! 6/19/2006

My sister and I took our dad to BOCA JUNIORS Steakhouse in Queens for Father's Day and we absolutely loved it. The place seems to be very popular and had alot of business, so it's important to call ahead and order a table (eventhough it says no rsvp needed) especially on a day like Father's Day. Yes it was loud, but that didn't bother us- we weren't there for a quiet/romantic dinner- this place is something like a sports restaurant (since they have two big plasma screens (muted) and lots of sports memorbilias on the walls to look at. ) The place is pretty big, has a tiny bar so it's mostly tables. They play wonderful tango's and Boca team-themed songs (which my father happily sang along to -reminiscing his youunger days in the Buenos Aires based Boca Junior games.) We were very pleased with the food and somewhat pleased with the service, but like in any restaurant on a day like Father's Day- the service is never perfect! more

Injustice to a Great name 4/22/2006

Noisy, Crowded. Being Argentinian I've visited most if not all of the Arg. restaurants in New York, and Boca in my opinion is one of the worst. I went only once, and the experience was bad enough that it doesnt merit a second chance. The tables are set up too close, which makes it crowded and loud. My bife de Chorizo arrived at the table luke warm and not medium-well as I had requested, furthermore it was fatty and nervy. Sorry guys, I love Boca Jrs, but not the restaurant. more

One of the Best Restaurants in Town!!! 1/23/2006

My family and I went to Boca Juniors over the weekend for the first time. As soon as we entered we noticed how crowded the place was and how everyone seemed to be enjoying there food. We waited about twenty minutes to a half hour and finally got seated. The food was excellent. I ordered a steak and it was delicious. It was cooked the way we had asked our waiter to have it done it. The waiter made sure that we had the proper service and had everything we needed. The wine selection was beyond amazing. Highly recommended from the waiter. I recommend you, that when you go to Boca Juniors, you asked to be waited by Carlos. He makes sure all your needs at the restaurant are provided. more

Value and great service! 8/23/2005

Staff is extra friendly and food is good for the price. Where else can yo uget a steak this cheap!?! Pros: value, service, laid back atmosphere more

Bad Service 6/15/2005

Service is pretty bad. I can deal with bad service with good food. My first day my Sirloin steak was very good. Made the way I like it. Second day, my T bone was dry and without any flavor. I was shocked by the inconsistancy. I complained to the waiter about my meat being overcooked, he corrected me saying - meat is just fine. it was not over cooked. I guess I will not be going there to take a chance. Pros: Ambience, value Cons: inconstantcy, service more
