Best Shop Around. Even when it's inconvenient, I return again and again to Bobby and Steve's because they are the best in every respect - what they fix stays fixed, and I(single,non-mechanically-inclined woman) have never been the target of even one attempt to talk me into anything I didn't need or ask them to look at. This shop is the best place in Minnesota to take your car. By far. Twice in a row they gave me better quotes than other mechanics in the area, and they did great work. Since then, I've stuck just with them. The people who work there are friendly and take time to explain the basics of the work your car might need. They're awesome! more

It is not a pleasant experience when your car breaks down in the middle of a busy street. It's the first time that has actually happened to me. I called Bobby & Steve's Auto World and explained the situation. I could hear the dispatcher on the other line, telling someone to hurry up and get to me asap. Boy, was I happy to see the tow truck arriving in 15 minutes. My car was taken to the body shop, inspected and fixed all in the same day. When you are in a situation like this, call Bobby & Steve's Auto World ...they are reliable. more

I've been satisfied with Bobbie & Steve's and was consistently using them since '02 for mainly oil changes and routine maintenance the past 9 years. \r \r Although I've heard from several people through the years they're expensive and the owner's are jerks (including someone I know who went to High School with one of them), I kept coming back. \r \r Well, just as of last week, I'm honestly done with them due to unethical business practices...not only did I almost way overpay for their services, I was baldfaced lied to by Randy. \r \r What happened was my VW Passat's battery was low (doesn't take someone with advanced education in car mechanics to know when your car battery's having issues). \r \r When I brought it in, I told them it was my battery. However, they insisted on giving my car a dianostic check which ran $109. Not a real big deal even though I knew I overpaid for it. \r \r But, when they came back saying ""yep, your car batterie's dead and you're looking at an extra $305 (e.g., $414 total) to replace it,"" is when it was blatantly obvious they were trying to scam me. Oh wait, it get's worse....\r \r As I'm standing there telling them I'm not moving forward with the installation, one of the owner's came by saying I better ""get it fixed now because your battery's so dead we had to jump it in our garage and you'll be stranded somewhere soon if I don't (textbook Sales tactic), is when it was even more clear. \r \r What's interesting about this is he said ""he'll readjust the price"" as if he knew the price was rediculously inflated. Wait, there's more!\r \r I then left and immediately drove my car to my VW dealer (which didn't give me one problem while en route), and showed them the estimate Bobbie & Steve's gave me without sharing any additional details with them, their exact words verbatim while laughing were ""What kind of an operation do they have going over there, $305 for a new battery? something not right here, even the way they wrote-up your estimate doesn't look right."" Wait, it get's even WORSE...\r \r After they took a peek, guess what? turns out the battery WASN'T dead at all but low and wasn't an immediate need for a new battery to be installed right away at all. However, I decided to have them put one in anyway which ran a total of $161.87 for everything. \r \r The moral of the story is, do your homework, compare prices, listen to other's you know and trust when they have a negative experience somewhere, and simply dismiss yourself permanently as a customer where you're getting ripped-off at which is the wisest thing you/we can do as consumers to a business. \r \r The pros to Bobbie & Steve's is their awesome new facility and their free car washes. However, this place honestly scammed me that day by one of their co-founders which is big deal, and even though it was the first time in 9 years, it's still enough to personally not earn my business back because this experience really pissed me off like it would anyone - enough crap in the world happening now than putting-up with this kind of B.S.\r \r Get a life you guys...seriously. \r \r Pros: Great new facility in Eden Prairie with a nice waiting room, provide free car washes for your business. \r \r Cons: Dishonest and unethical business practices at the senior level which is the root of every unhealthy organization. \r \r more

These guys charge almost $40 per mile. I would rather have driven the car in and paid for the extra repairs at my mechanic than use this towing service. Wouldn't have used them this time if they hadn't duped my spouse into accepting these outrageous charges. This says enough to me about their service that I will never use them for anything else, and I hope you won't, either. more

I was told it would take an hour -- which I thought was quite a long time, since I was in an urban area mere miles from Bobby & Steve's, but decided it must be busy, that's okay. I took my car in for a simple tune up on Monday and it was not to be finished Wednesday. Today Tuesday, I saw three teenage thugs-one of whom I recognize to be the cashier herself-racing around in MY CAR. I tried to catch up with them but they sped away. It was clear that they were not test driving the car because it is not necessary for three teens to test drive a car, especially at reckless speeds. When I demanded my car back, Randy himself was a total jerk. He was not only defensive and insulting about the whole thing-he even demanded payment. Overall lesson-do not bring your car to these inbred losers if you care about your investment. I was treated VERY poorly. I brought my car in to be fixed, they ""FIXED"" it, but it only lasted a day. I called to tell them, and they said that the car was working when it left, so there must be another problem (and another BILL!) I brought it somewhere else and discovered they did not put the pieces back in the correct way!! I have NEVER seen such AWFUL customer service companied by POOR quality of work! I was shocked that they would not stand behind their work! I have never been treated so badly by someone in the service industry! \r SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO TO A QUALITY PLACE, NOT BOBBY AND STEVE'S! I had my truck towed there for a new alternator and they charged me $500. I found out a day later that the same thing at the dealership would have been $279. On top of that my vehicle now makes a loud noise that never occured untill those boneheads touched my truck. I took my truck back to ask about the noise and was told that it would cost me over a $1,000 to fix. I would not even trust the gas they sell at their gas station. They are the worst!! I stop going to them after a close friend of mine is going through a legal matter with them. This person was truly a ""loyal"" customer for years until they screwed up this person car!!!! After talking to co-workers I was told people said they are referred to as ""Bobby & Steal"" because they rip you off !! I think their only good for their chicken, nothing more!! I surely didn't like what my friend had to go through, over priced and I would tell anyone, take your vehicle to a dealership for repair, not a gas station like this. Of course they will over charge you and customer service is not their speciality. Cons: all down!! more

We love going over to Randys Bobby and Steves. Everyone there is wonderful. This is one of the places that we get the best, up personal service. My kids really enjopy the colors that come in the car wash too! I can not say a bad thing about any person who works over there. My car has been fixed there many times and I always know what it is and what the cost will be. Car repairs are costly to begin with, but they are always cheaper than the dealership I have gone to in the past. more

Randy's Bobby & Steve's has been absolutely great to work with. They have shown up in 15 minutes to help me change a shredded tire, towed me from the middle of the road when my fuel pump failed, and driven me home when they had to keep my car for more than an hour. Then they came to pick me up when it was ready! Maybe it helps if you know enough about cars and how they work to know what's wrong and about what a repair will cost. These guys have been straight, honest, and fairly-priced. I would recommend them to anyone. The 2 bad reviews sound like they had other issues and I did not have their experience.
