Best

I so like the crabs meat, nicely cooked. They were a bit expensive for me but really worth your money.

Worst

I had some friends from out of town come for the day last weekend. They wanted to go somewhere for seafood...

HORRIBLE!!!! 4/24/2009

Bo Brooks of yesterday is GONE! We were a party of 9 and nobody had a satisfying dinner. The crabs were empty and small, especially for the high price. It was embarrassing taking out-of-town company there. Our dinners were very disappointing in quality and quantity. The service was equally horrific. For a Thursday night, Bo Brooks was empty. I suppose the tourists haven't come to town yet. I'm sure Bo Brooks is still in business because of the ""one time visitors"". They surely would be ""out of business"" if they relied on locals. DON""T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!! Pros: No pros at all Cons: Bad Food, Bad Service more

THE WORST EVER 11/24/2008

DO NOT GO TO BO BROOKS. The server was horrible. The food was horrible. The atmosphere was horrible and the location was horrible. You might be asking, why di they go? Well we were directed there by the man with top-hat at the door of our hotel. I believe they call him the doorman. : ) By the time we cabbed it there and got inside, it was too late for us. Pros: If you like an overpriced Long John Silver's Cons: I hate overpriced long John Silver's - I hate even low priced Long John Silver's more

just plain BAD experience 9/26/2008

Bad service, bad crabs (boiled, not steamed) all around BAD experience. Do NOT Bother with this place. Cons: bad food, bad service, no parking, the list goes on and on. more

Worst Crabs on the Chesapeake 5/12/2008

Not only did Bo Brooks provide me with the worst crabs we have ever had, the overal experience was the worst dinig experience I have had. I would steer everyone clear of the place. After waiting over 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order, half of the crabs we had were mushy. No real apologies from management. Pros: parking, view Cons: food, service more

Bad Crabs 3/16/2008

Terrible crabs, they said they were colossal and they were probably medium. Service was terrible, had to wait a very long time. I eat crabs about 20ty some times a year so I know crabs. This is not like the old Bo Brooks. Would not go back. 102.00 a dozen for crabs, Some were mushy. Emailed them to get a response about 10 days ago on there comment card with my phone number and email address to see if I would get a response. Heard nothing yet. I guess they don't read the comment card. Went with a party of 6, There oyster dinner was very good and cheap but 5 of us went for crabs, never again. Pros: Parking ok Cons: Service was very bad and slow, Over price for crabs, must be the location more

Don't go!!! 2/17/2008

We had a party of 8 for a Sunday Lunch expecting to take our time and have a good meal, but that was not the case. We arrived and the Waitress, who was very nice and this is not her fault, warned us that they were understaffed and it may take a little longer than usual, but we were fine with that because some of the family was from out of town and we enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. As mentioned above we knew that it would take a litte longer than usual, but when it took almost an hour to put in our order and were sitting with empty drinks we started to get a little restless. Upon placing our order we were informed that they were out of Crab Cakes, out of crab cakes??? So half of the table had to change order on the spot and they were confident in their new choices. After about another 45 minutes the waitress apologetically came out and said that they were out of Soft shell Crab, seafood salad, and a few other things that were ordered by our party. We are not high maintainence people, but this put us over the edge, so we walked out and went down the street to another place. Them being out of this much food on the menu means that they are either idiots and do not know how to order from their supplier, or that the food that they actually did have was not fresh because they clearly did not have a shipment in for a while. When the manager came out he covered our drinks and gave us a half assed apology, almost like he has to deal with this every week. Please do your self a favor and do not go there, I know I never will again. Pros: They had a roof Cons: Under that roof they were trying to do business more

Nostalgia tastes horrible. 1/30/2008

Bo Brooks trades on their reputation from 25 years ago, but don't be fooled. The original owners knew how to treat people, but the corporation that owns it now could care less. One, they never have Maryland crabs. They don't serve them. EVER. All crabs are from Texas. They have horrible service. Your food WILL take over an hour to get there, and don't be surprised if it's cold. The managers will argue with you about anything you complain about. All in all, don't go there, there are plenty of other places in Baltimore to eat crabs that appreciate your business. more

Bus boys and servers wanted... 8/3/2007

Horrible service...we witnessed other diners get up and leave because their crabs never arrived in a timely manner (resulting in a heated discussion between a server and manager!). To get our server to refill our drinks, we literally had to place our glasses at the edge of the table since she did not fill them despite being empty for a long time. Other tables nearby were not cleaned for over an hour with half-eaten food sitting on them. When our crabs finally arrived (and they were indeed good) our server told us that the size crabs we ordered was not available so ""here these are."" She also was also courteous enough to bring hand wipes well after we headed to the restroom to clean our hands. This happened at lunchtime when the restaurant was almost empty...I'd hate to see what happens when they get busy. All in all, very good crabs but not worth the headache. more

Not Impressed 11/3/2005

We used to go here when it was on Belair Road. For a post-graduation dinner about 10 family members made reservations for between 4:30 and 5:00. No one else was in the restaurant but the staff gave us a hard time for being late at 4:45 when they were warned of this possibility. They almost refused to seat us. They forgot to bring my aunt's food, did not serve the rest of us at anywhere near the same time, and the food was only so-so. Service was quite poor. My mother went back another day and her shrimp salad tasted spoiled. Pros: Valet Parking, Water View Cons: Poor service, Iffy food, Parking w/o valet more

No Crab!! 2/22/2005

Went in on a Sunday Night and the bartender told us right away that there was no crab. Thought it was funny. Then we found out it was true. Apparently Maryland Crab season is just like baseball season, it starts in April and ends in November. The rest of the year they import crab from Louisiana/Texas. Bo Brooks is one of the few places that has them year round, but Sunday is the end of their week and they were sold out. We didn't end up having dinner there, but the bartender and manager were very helpful and it looked like a nice place. Pros: Crab year round Cons: No crab for us! more

Krab Kove 6/9/2004

I went to Bo's new Krab Kove for happy hour the other night. It was a ton of fun. It is on the water and we had crabs after a few drinks. They were awesome! I would highly recommend their crab cakes as well. Don't miss the fruit explosion for dessert........... more

Good crabcakes but don't get the mussels 4/12/2004

Food is generally above average, especially the crab cakes. Don't order the mussels unless you like to be ripped off. They cost almost a dollar a piece and are only average size (mine had sand in it last time to top it off). No mollusk is worth a buck a pop! more
