Blumenthal and Spirit Square are actually in 2 different buildings; Blumenthal is next to Bank of America Tower, while Spirit Square is neighbor to the PLCMC (Public Library of Charlotte-Mecklenburg County). Blumenthal is the home of the symphony and opera and even has an auxiliary place called the Booth Playhouse where smaller acts perform. Spirit Square also hosts a few of these acts and is the main instructional center, where programs like the Community School for the Arts are housed, a great way for kids to involve themselves in violin, piano, painting, drama, etc, etc. more

Marvelous! 7/12/2005

We saw a live play at Blumenthal and were so tickled and delighted by it! The acting was wonderful and totally drew you into the story. The storyline was touching and so humor was great! The atmosphere was nice and slightly elegant. We came 5 minutes late and had to take balcony seating until the intermission, but even that was pretty good. Fine, fine quality for a reasonable yet slightly expensive price. A lovely way to spend an evening. It’s also located within easy reach of restaurants and coffee shops for pre- or post- theatre events. more
