Great food, good service but over priced 1/23/2011

The food was great and the services wasn't great but wasn't bad. I don't really care for the two enterences (front and back). Everytime someone came in the back, a gust of cold air would come in. I ate dinner with my jacket on. The place is really narrow so that cold air really feels the building. It was overpriced, and the sake menu wasn't that impressive, and mostly by the bottle not glass. Great for date night but not groups more

Unique Atmosphere 3/16/2009

My sister and I enjoy trying new restaurants and I brought my sister here for her birthday a few months ago. I've been meaning to write a review, that's how much the spot stuck out in my mind! It's a nice excluded spot, so next time I'll be there on a date. Pros: Great sushi and service Cons: parking more

Great Food, Great Sushi, Great Drinks, Great Atmosphere! 2/13/2009

Need I say more? I love going to a place that's consistent and I have been consistently satisfied with Bluefin. My first sushi experience was awful....everything tasted like the Atlantic Ocean or some canal running through the dingiest neighborhood in America. I can say that Bluefin severly changed my outlook on sushi. Now I have a hard time trying it any other place because I know that I can always have a good experience here. I've eaten their entrees too. AMAZING. Had a 'Bob Marley' once. Great. The atmosphere is always calm and very comfortable. Would definitely recommend it to anyone trying sushi for the first time because there are some selections that don't overwhelm you and make you think of seaweed and coral reefs! Pros: Plenty to chose from even if you don't eat sushi. Cons: Parking but I'd prefer $3 to $10+ or none at all! more

Great, Fresh and Fun 2/5/2009

This place has quickly become my boyfriend and Is favorite sushi in Atlanta. I have never tried anything except for the sushi simply because it's so good. the wasabi and seafood is all very fresh. The atmosphere is very swanky. The parking is a little irritating, but if you're feeling cheap you can drive on past the $3 parking lot and park a little farther down on the street. All in all this is my favorite sushi place in town and I love sushi. Pros: Fresh sushi, modern chique atmosphere, good service Cons: Small lounge area, $3 parking, tables can be small if not seated at booth more

Amazing Sea Bass!!!!! Great Ambience* 12/18/2008

I would totally recommend this place for girlfriends to catch up, fun dates and dinner parties. Their sake martini's are very good. Pros: Ambience, Service, Sake Martinis, Sea Bass Cons: Parking- you pay 3, but get 3 back later more

Great Sushi...Cool Space 12/14/2008

My partner and I visited Bluefin recently because we enjoy sushi and pictures on the restaurant's website indicated that this was a trendy choice with a large menu. We were not disappointed. The sushi was fresh and restaurant decor was cool and modern We started our meal with Honey and Chili Shrimp. Although I am not a big fan of spicy food, I found this dish to be well balanced. We were impressed with the food and service and would recommend this restaurant. Since the menu contained a selection of other choices in addition to a comprehensive sushi list, we can bring our friends (that don't have a taste for sushi) to join us for a good meal. Try the Manhattan Roll. OH, the drinks were fabulous!!!!! Pros: Decor...Fresh Food...Good Drinks more

This place just has ""it"" 12/12/2008

and by ""it"", I mean ""everything"".......a great atmosphere, reasonable prices, amazing service, and oh yeah, did I mention the best sushi in Atlanta. My girlfriend and I came in the other night because we had a bad experience at our usual sushi restaurant, Taka(I won't get into it, but we won't be going back). We were instantly impressed with the atmosphere; low lighting, lounge music, comfortable seating, it all came together very nicely. We ordered a nice bottle of wine which our server recommended to us. We then proceeded to order some sashimi(chef's selection), and a couple of BF premium rolls(Bluefins twist on some traditional rolls). Everything was fantastic. By far some of the freshest fish I have ever tasted! All in all the experience was GREAT, and best of all, now we have a new sushi spot to call our own. Pros: Food, service, atmosphere more

As Close to Tokyo as Atlanta Can Get 10/31/2008

I was visiting Atlanta for business from Tokyo and after a couple of weeks I began to miss the sushi...I tried Bluefin and loved the service and the freshness of the sushi. more

Best sushi in ATL, incredible decor, very hot 10/3/2008

I dined at Bluefin last Saturday evening for my birthday with some of my girlfriends and had the best time. The server, Christina, was incredibly warm and attentive. The entire staff came by the table it seemed to wish me a happy birthday as did the owner who is very sweet! This was my second time in and the restaurant almost felt reinvented, from the staff to the food. The new manager from Hawaii, Stephen was very accommodating and was constantly checking on our party. He is pretty hot too ladies! I will definitely be going back to Bluefin ! more

Monday Nights @ Blue Fin = FUN! 7/20/2008

Some friends and I fell into Blue Fin one Monday night and have been going ever since. The atmosphere is awsome, the staff is great and food is superb!Blue Fin is a place that you can go to after work and unwind or posh enough to take a date and have a great meal. The specials on sushi, wine and cocktails on Monday nights, my opinion is the best in Buckhead. I have never attended any other night but I know that Monday nights ROCK! I will be back.... Pros: Staff, Atmosphere, and food....yummo Cons: price and can get a little warm more

Fantastic, unqiue food and presentation 6/12/2008

My boyfriend and I went to Bluefin for his birthday. The decor was fun, and the hostess was friendly. We ordered drinks and a fantastic tuna appetizer. For dinner, I had the scallops, and he had the bluefin steak. Both were incredible. The quality of each dish was exceptional. The dishes were served on amazing platters, and even the sides were perfectly executed. Our server was helpful the entire time. The only negative is that it was more expensive than I was expecting, after reading other reviews. My martini was $13, and each beer was $6.50. So with drinks, one appetizer, and two entrees, our total bill, before tip, was $95. It was definitely worth it, and we plan on going back, but just expect to pay that much before you go. Pros: friendly service, great presentation, all dishes were cooked perfectly Cons: parking is not free, and no valet is offered, more pricey than expected. more

Very Impressive 5/14/2008

The atmosphere was great. It looks like a 5 star restaurant. However, the prices are very reasonable (with the exception of sake) for the food and atmosphere you're getting. As a previous reviewer noted, the fish is really good. Try the Sea Bass! This is a great place to take a date. After dinner, there's a Cafe Intermezzo right next door if you want dessert. Parking is $3 which you pay upfront. After you validate your parking, the guy will give your $3 back. If you're going to Intermezzo, pick up your car afterward dessert. Pros: Sea Bass, Sushi, Service, Atmosphere more

Georgeous spot / great sushi 3/28/2008

I could not be happier with my experience at Bluefin. I live within walking distance and went for dinner with some friends before a Friday-night performance at Woodruff. The space is absolutely georgeous--while it looks sleek, the cream-colored couches for booths warms it up considerably. It looks cool, which could be interpreted as sterile, but there is still a coziness about it somehow. The sushi was top-notch. As another reviewer noted, when you walk in, you get the impression that you will be paying out the nose for food--not so. Prices were fair--not bargain basement, but not outrageous, either. Our service was a tiny bit slow, but very gracious and friendly. As far as the sushi, I must mention that the ungai (eel) was the best I've had in a long time. From an aesthetic point of view, the presentation of the food was simple but beautiful, down to the little soy sauce bowls. Watch your chopsticks--they're metal and the plates are not very conducive to keeping them in-check when you lay them down. They tend to roll off on the floor!! Great dining experience and I look forward to going back. Pros: Ambience, Food quality Cons: Parking more

Welcome addition to Brookwood 2/13/2008

Bluefin has it all. Amazing sushi bar, full service bar/lounge area, and delicious entrees and even various flavors of pizza! Try the bluefin tuna either nigiri or sashimi style, my personal favorite. A place of this calibre within walking distance has truly spoiled me :) Enjoy Pros: Everything Cons: Paid parking, however they will stamp your ticket inside more

Gret Spot 2/5/2008

When you walk in you think you have walked into the highest price sushi restaurant category because the place is very hip and attractive, but the prices were suprisingly reasonable, no more than your average sushi dive (and in some instance less). Pros: Hip, Music, Prices Cons: Had to pay to park behind the restaurant more

Intimate Neighborhood Sushi Lounge & More! 2/1/2008

We have been watching for this spot to open everyday, in our little South Buckhead Neighborhood(Brookwood), And what a little intimate stunner. Curved white booths, an elevated lounge, and a sushi bar, with restaurant also. We started at the Sushi Bar in the rear of the dining room, and everything was spot-on super fresh, with a great Sake menu. In fact we filled up on sushi, and retired to the elevated lounge area. This place has it all, and the Sake-tini's were wonderful. Next time we will do the full dining scene, with entrees like Grilled Nantua Sea Bass and Pacific Sesame Tuna. Open for lunch also, and just a two minute walk from our condo. Welcome to the 'hood! Pros: Excellent Fresh Sushi Bar, Elevated Lounge, and Full Service Japanese Restaurant Cons: Charge For Parking In Rear! more
