Ben has done a lot of work on our home, and we have always been pleased. He designed a large custom cabinet unit that is built into our family room, poured a new concrete patio and steps, and a myriad of other projects related to a full basement remodel. We used Blue Sound Construction for a major remodel in 2008, and were very pleased. Ben and his team helped us evaluate and price several major scope alternates – both before commencement and throughout the delivery process. Through very positive interaction, we were able to achieve a much broader scope in a very cost effective manner. The project ultimately involved relocation/expansion of the kitchen, expansion of a bedroom, new windows throughout the house, refinished hardwood floors, a skylight, new paint throughout, one fully refinished bathroom, a new deck, and the creation of a great room (by creating arched openings between kitchen, dining, and living rooms). Despite the expanding scope, we were afforded absolute clarity on the project costs - a rarity in residential construction, I believe. Along the way, Ben and his team (including his very design-savvy wife and business partner, Courtney) brought great design input that really helped make this project exceptional. When people ask about Blue Sound, I am effusive about their efforts. The hallmarks of their work are honesty, collaboration, and craftsmanship, and I would hire them again without hesitation. more

Good: The professionalism and attention to detail were great, as was the responsiveness. Ben, the owner, was always available to answer our questions and advise us. They also suggested modifications to the design of the remodel that worked out well for us. They were courteous, thorough, and kept to the timeline they had set for themselves.When we ran into small problems, even months after the job was finished, Ben immediately came and took care of them.. Bad: Probably not the lowest priced contractor, but very fair for the services we received.. Other: We were extremely satisfied with the work of the crew and with the result. Not only is their work excellent, their communication with the client is as well. They don't surprise you -- everything is agreed on along the way. We couldn't be happier with them.. more
