We had a reservation on Valentines Day and arrived a few minutes early. When we arrived, there were several couples ahead of us, but no one at the hostess stand. We waited for 10 minutes before anyone came to the front of the restaurant, although there were quite a few people working there that saw the crowd. No one waiting was greeted or given any sort of attention. We were finally seated, however the service continued to tank from there. Service was extremely slow. When our server came to take our order, there were no ""hello, welcome"", etc., just ""what can I get you"". We had to ask the bus boy for refills on our drinks, since we never saw our server again. Just as we were deciding to leave, the soup came out - maybe 20-25 minutes after we were seated. Then another agonizing wait for the appetizer. Again as we were ready to bail, the sushi finally arrived. The nigiri had a terrible taste, almost plastic like. Two hours later, another server came over and asked how our meal was; we told him it was terrible! He said the sushi wasn't bad, you can tell if it's sticky that it's old. Old wasn't the issue, it was the taste. He said it was mild, well, that wasn't the issue either. He said sorry for the service, they were just busy since it was Valentine's Day. This of all days, they should be trying to impress people and giving great service. We saw quite a few frustrated people in the restaurant. The couple next to us said they'd been there 2 1/2 hrs and they were still waiting for their check as we were leaving. (The only reason we got ours is because my husband went to the front and asked for the check and to pay right then). This place came highly recommended by a friend, but I can honestly say we will not go back again.
Pros: The miso soup was good
Cons: Service was nearly non existent, nigiri and sushi had poor taste, appetizer (dumplings) were understuffed. Didn't get seated quickly even with reservations.
