Great romantic place, and nice place to eat while having a day at the Happiest Place on Earth. The atmosphere and the settings are really really pretty. A bit dark but it makes you feel like you're outside and in the night, eating outside. more

Call ahead of time! If you don't, you'll be waiting a while, IF they allow you to do walk-ups. If it's a busy weekend (like Holidays), I would recommend calling in a couple weeks ahead of time for sure. more

got sick from a couple of their dishes. 12/11/2009

funny how this place has always been ""the place"" i wanted to go to eat at as ?early as my teens, and when i became an adult. the prices have always been on the high side for us though, which is why we never went. late last year, several family members and i ate there for the first time. we ordered everything we wanted, plus more. we all felt the same way about the place. funny thing is, the food wasn't all that. i guess it has always been the atmosphere and the unattainable-ness before that made it so alluring. just so-so the food. well, maybe worse actually. i think a couple of us kind of got sick from a couple of their dishes. more

No Better Place to Dine at Disneyland 5/6/2008

Imagine dining at a restaurant where it is night all day long. You can here crickets and a banjo playing in the distance. You can see boats sailing past you. This is all possible at the Blue Bayou. Pros: Food, service, and Amibence were great. Cons: Reservations are required. more

Fantastic Resturant 9/5/2007

My family has been going to the Blue Bayou for years now. And yes, it is on the upper end of the price scale Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere Cons: Split plate charge more

Old Fashion Service 3/29/2007

All I have to say is OMG! Not in my wildest dreams did I know that there was a restaurant like this in the middle of Disneyland. But then again, my parents were never ones to lavish me with expensive things. Pros: Best dining in the park open to the public Cons: You should reserve in advance, and long before you plan to go to the park. more

NICE ATMOSPHERE BUT DON'T EAT THE JAMBALAYA! 2/22/2007

We went to the Blue Bayou at 11:00 am on a weekend with no reservation and only had to wait about 20 minutes for a table for 4 right next to the water. It's a bit pricey but you're really just paying for the atmosphere. The food wasn't very good. I had the jambalaya and i only had about 2 or 3 bites. It was way too fishy and mushy and had a tiny dried out stick on top of it that was supposed to be a crab leg. The rest of my party was from Louisiana and couldn't even swallow the Jambalaya. The gumbo was ok. I ended up eating about 4 pieces of bread to get full. Everyone else with me had the Monte Cristo Sandwhich which they thought was pretty good as long as you dipped it in the raspberry jam they serve on the side. I'll probably never eat here again. more

Blue bayou is the place you want to eat when going to Disneyland California 11/27/2006

me and wife and the kids at the Blue Bayou and she ate the Royal Street Seafood Jambalaya $25.99 and I had the Le Sp`ecial Del Monte Cristo $18.99 and the kids had the Kid menu it was 3 courses and drink included ($9.99) the adult order comes with 2 sides as well, it was 4PM and about 92 degrees outside, but when we was seated you swear you are eating outside at night . you eat by laterns hanging over over, with the sound of the crickets chirping, and boats sailing past you (Pirates of the carribean ride) This resturant is insdie the ride, the view if your lucky to get a table by the water you will see what looks like a lake with wild flower a house and the moon. and some cloudes. it is very romantic and peacful and relaxing automesphare. I suggest to bring money as it is pricey but the food is enought for it to be shared with 2 people. Reservations is highly recommeded as that is the most populare resturant to eat inside Disneyland. California.so i would make then 45 to 50 days in advance as walk up is hard to get and if you are lucky you might wait a few hours to get seated. Pros: relaxing, romantiic, childrens Menu 3 courses and drink included. Cons: adults can no longer order from Kids menu in this resturant. more

Got sick afterwards! 7/29/2006

Celebrated my son's 13th birthday there. Three of us got violently ill after the meal, including my son. All had the salad. Reported it to Disney and received a very poor response denying any fault in the incident. Very dissappointed after spending nearly $200 there + 3 day hopper passes to Disney + hotel with such a dismal ending. Very dissappointed with Disney's reponse! more

what a place 2/16/2006

the best place ive eaten at in a long time, the food was great the ambience was the best . where else can you have a candle lit dinner outside at 12 in afternoon. a little pricy but worth it . If you go to Dosneyland you cant pass this up. Pros: ambience, food, service Cons: reservations, price more

I loved it! 7/23/2005

My ex-boyfriend took me to the Blue Bayou 5 years ago and I still remember the atmosphere =) Best to go in the evening, I think - it was dark, romantic and the perfect alternative to a candle-lit dinner because there were soft, colorful lights everywhere. A place to feel beautiful and revive the ""first date"" feeling. more

The Best Monte Cristo 1/2/2005

I can't say too much about the food, because all I've ever gotten was the Monte Cristo sandwich. There's a reason for that. It's the best Monte Cristo sandwich I've ever had. The clam chowder is pretty good. The gumbo is a little watery, with way too much okra. The creme brulee is the worst I've ever had, so avoid that at all costs. It's way to gelotinous, with no vanilla flavor whatsoever. The baked apple in a pastry shell is really good. It just needs vanilla ice cream to make it perfect. All in all, it's a nice place to eat if you've never been there, or if you have. At least go once for the Monte Cristo sandwich. Pros: Great Monte Cristo, Nice Ambience, Good Service Cons: , Have To Make Res. more

It's A Blah World 12/7/2002

Blah food. The chicken cavatappi is boring; you can't taste any of the herbs, just the pasta and cream sauce. The Monte Cristo sandwich is too rich and fatty, with absolutely no flavor other than grease. The Blue Bayou potatoes are supposed to be au gratin style, but are generally perfect on top and undercooked below. Their meats tend to run on the rare side--so always order at least 1 step more well-done than you usually do. Avoid the salads--usually drenched in dressing. Some rave over mint julep--but just too much corn syrup. Definitely overpriced. $40 for dinner (no alcohol and no dessert). Service ranges from very good to poor. Women are better servers than men. Nicest restrooms in Disneyland. They had an incredible chicken sandwich. If it ever comes back to the menu, try it. Otherwise, avoid the restaurant at lunch. Pros: Atmosphere, Air conditioned Cons: Very expensive, Blah food more

Talk about AMBIENCE! 5/30/2002

Need to impress someone? Take them to the Blue Bayou. Their food is delicious; I really liked the Jambalaya. But it's the ambience that really makes this place really really romantic. It's a complete getaway with extremely friendly and fast waitstaff. Tough part about getting into this restaurant is they only take reservations in person, so you have to be at the park in the morning to make them because they fill up FAST. This is where a season pass comes in handy. Go in the morning, make reservations, set up your romantic dinner, and stroll into the happiest place on the earth with your sweetie to a really good restaurant. Word of caution, its kinda pricey, about $20-30 per person. Pros: Food, Ambience, Service Cons: reserve in person more
