Let me first start by saying that i've been to Blue 32 many times and have had good experiences most of the time. But, I recently went to Blue 32 for a friends Birthday party and was appalled by what happened... \r
\r
They had reserved a table with bottle service and had put a few friends on the list. I showed up only to be told that I was on the list but would have to wait in line. (Not sure what the point of the list was, or why they keep one)\r
\r
So we went to the end of the line, which was about 20 people. After about 5 minutes everyone in line left except for 3 guys in front of us. We waited for about 15 minutes, but no one was getting in except for about 30 people which ""shook hands"" with the door staff, most notably a big black guy who is always there. I approached the door man, and asked what the deal was. He said it was going to be $20 a head to ""skip the line"". I replied that there were only 3 people in front of us, to which he said would take at least 45 minutes to get in, if at all. Needless to say, we left.\r
\r
Come to find out, they weren't letting ANYONE in without greasing the palms of the shady door staff. Dont get me wrong, I dont mind paying to get into a place, but at least let us know there is a cover. Dont make me sit in a line that is not going to get in no matter what. From my understanding, Blue 32 has a policy not to charge cover, ever!!!!! There is no way i'm going to pay some low-life bouncer $20 to get into a bar in hermosa beach of all places.\r
\r
Blue 32 you have lost a customer, and I urge others to boycott that place until management gets rid of those a-holes that are running the door.\r
\r
BLUE 32 - F-CK THAT PLACE!\r
\r
If you are looking for a good place to hang out, the Shore is much better, as well as Underground, and pretty much anywhere on the Pier.\r
\r
Has anyone else had stuff like this happen around south bay?\r
Pros: I have no idea
Cons: the door
