It was very good. Basically, I wouldn't say they did everything absolutely perfect, but overall they did an outstanding job. It was done much faster than I expected and kind of within the price. There were some additional problems. They basically had to completely rebuild two patio decks we had, and they found wood-rot that was not initially expected. They replaced that with new material at what it costed, with no labor cost added. I thought that was very good of them. I am very satisfied with that Block Island Remodeling did for us. It was very good to deal with them, and they were pleasant, so we had no problems at all. more

They finished the project on time, doing quality workmanship, always on the job and cleaning up after each day's work. Block Island assisted in the rebuilding of our second story deck after our home was burned in the 2007 wildfires. We had numerous contractors for a variety of rebuild projects so my wife and I became very familiar with contractors, subcontractors and their work habits. During the many months of re-building our home, my wife and I were very meticulous about the work being performed and we struggled with a number of contractors when it came to quality, timeliness, and cleanliness. Block Island was by far the most professional group of contractors we have ever dealt with. The quality of their work is superior, but more importantly their respect for our property was unequalled. Our project took weeks and was finished on time. The work crew cleaned up all debris, swept the area, and secured all equipment and materials in a safe manner at the end of each workday. This was especially meaningful to my wife as we have a 2 year old baby. We are very satisfied customers and have recommended Block Island to a number of people. I have had Rick and company do two projects for me. The first was an aluminium deck. Block Island did a great job and I have had the deck for several years and it still looks new. The quality was excellent and paint has held up well. The second project was a roof repair an it too is excellent and very high quality workman ship. more

1. Replaced a deck. Rick was knowledgeable about options, and his crew (especially William) did very good work. 2. Replaced a patio railing (about 70 feet). Again, Rick was willing to explore the many options and to help us pick one out. And again William and his helper did excellent, timely work. more

We have used Block Island for both outdoor (decking) and indoor (bathroom/windows) work and could not be more pleased with our experiences. What we most value is how honest and fair the owners are with the pricing, and how well they are able to handle the things that arise that there is no way to contract on ahead of time.
