This is one of the older and best restaurants on South Padre Island. Blackbeards is one of those must try restaurants. If attending this restaurant during the weekend you should make a reservation because if not you may have to wait for a long time. I like this restaurant because it has an outdoor component which is really nice to dine at when the weather is nice. This restaurant is a little more expensive than other places on the island. The seafood, however, is better than the food provided at other competing restaurants. more

Favorite South Padre Restaurant 3/31/2006

okay, if you go to Blackbeard's you have to get a stuffed jalepeno appetizer....it is what Blackbeard's is known for. Their prices can go from moderate to expensive but you will get HUGE portions and many of the seafood plates you can split with someone. the wait staff is excellent and will even suggest menu items and that you save your money and split a plate. i have never had a bad experience at Blackbeard's and always look forward to a trip to the Island just to eat there. the atmosphere is casual and people are very friendly. there is a patio so you can even eat outside and enjoy the nice weather. more
