""For me, the Black Horse Garage is misnamed. I call it the White Knight Garage.\r \r I have been a customer of Frank Buonanno and Black Horse for more than 20 years. Frank is not only an outstanding expert/mechanic but he is also a friend and a decent human being. To name just a few of my business transactions with Frank:\r \r Frank and his craftsmen performed extensive restoration work and rebuilt the engine in my 1935 Rolls Royce 20/25. This Rolls Royce has won practically all the major trophies at the RROC (Rolls Royce Owners' Club) National Meets. It won Best in Class honors many times, the Shamrock Trophy (for the most improved car since the last National Meet), Best of Show twice, and Best among Previous Winners.\r \r Of interest is that in order to have a car judged at an RROC national meet it has to be driven to the show and not trailered. If the distance is enormous then the RROC requires a minimum of 100 miles to be driven after the car arrives at the show. I drove the 1935 Rolls Royce, without a mechanical failure, to Ottawa, Canada, Lexington, KY, Asheville, NC, Newport, RI, and the Homestead, VA.\r \r In addition, to the above Black Horse Garage has worked on my 1979 Corniche Drophead another multiple winner at the RROC Nationals. Also, several of my others cars: 1973 Buick Centurion, 1968 Ford LTD w/428ci engine, 1979 Lincoln Mark V, 1973 Jaguar E-Type V-12 Roadster.\r \r More recently, the day-to-day management of Black Horse Garage was handed down to the next generation. Frank's son , John, has taken over and under his excellent leadership the garage has expanded tremendously and added additional outstanding mechanics, body shop experts, and able support staff all housed in larger facilities. Frank is still at the shop every day however, meticulously rebuilding complex engines and overseeing projects.\r \r In 2009 I entrusted my 1935 Rolls Royce 20/25 to Black Horse Garage for a repaint. John made sure the work was finished before the September 6, 2009 Lime Rock Park Concours d'Elegance event where the car took Best in Class honors. The exterior finish can only be described as flawless.\r \r In closing, I feel compelled to mention another car, although I know Frank cringes every time I bring it up. It is my 1977 Toyota Celica GT. Yes, you read it right, for 30 years Frank and Black Horse have maintained this car: engine/body/interior, but that's a story in itself for another time. I enthusiastically recommend Black Horse Garage to every collector car owner seeking an honest shop that always provides expert guidance, outstanding craftsmanship, attentive customer service and great value.""\r \r -- M.S. seen some of the work done there, seems to be allot of the same cars haveing work done over and over again. Because it wasnt done right the first time. scary what someone that doesnt know what there doing can hide just like a bad contractor on your house. I dont clame to restore cars or claim to know allot about restoration but i know enough to know when some thing isnt being done right. If you getting work done on anything you have to be some what educated in what you are haveing done so they dont take you for a ride. more

Just trying to run a business 1/15/2009

Unfortunately it is necessary sometimes to let employees go for various reasons, no one ever thinks they?re at fault or their work is less than it should be but when running a business you have to make decisions based on your expertise and knowledge. I understand how hard it is to lose your job and how that can make a person very angry, angry enough to tell lies. Pros: Nice, Friendly Staff more

Black horse garage is a joke 8/26/2008

I used to work at black horse garage they are the bigger joke then the guy that tried to re invent the wheel. The have many high dollar cars in there some that deserve allot of respect. the owners + some employes that work there are like big babbies they range from 20 up to 70 years old. they like you one minute and try to start a fight the next minute. they look anyway to cut coners on your car anyway they can. but you pay allot and do get what you deserve.the million dollar jaguar they have is the biggest piece of junk i have ever seen because of the guy working on it. The guy claims to know everything. if they bring that car to the pebble beach car show will not be allowed in. I know i have been there. I used to build cars for boyd coddington in cali. they send cars out with paint drips in the clear in it. paint peeling customer doesnt see it and will come back again 3 months later with the problem and they will toss them with another bill even though it was there mees up. the owners used to get me mad and most of the employeis they used to make fun of 2 deaf kids that used to work there behinde theres back. they seem like really nice people but there just out to get you money be ware from somone that used to work there Cons: everything more
