They gave my pet an unneeded rabies vaccine... (he had just had it a few months ago, it's a yearly shot) and the ladies up front argued with me since i didn't want to pay for it, then the lady wouldn't give me the vaccine paperwork since i didn't pay for it. They didn't like to admit that they had made a mistake and instead acted like it was my problem. Not going back. more

Along with Dr. Anderson and Dr. Mez, they make a great team. I love the place because they care. I recently had to let my 18 year old Corgie go, and their compassion and dedication is truly amazing. \r \r Their kennel people care about their charges and make sure they receive optimum care. Their techs, doctors, and office people treat you with dignity and respect. First of all this website has the name wrong. It's Black Hills Animal Hospital without the Twitero George. I have been going there for years and I must say the care is more than you could expect. Dr. Michael Anderson is a one of a kind veterinarian and now with Dr. Melissa Mez you couldn't ask for two better veterinarians than them. I have had the great opportunity having them both (when Dr. A was unavailable due to emergency surgery he had to perform) and they are both wanting to work and give all the possible care they can. They are honest and compasionate and aren't in the business for just the money they are there to help. The staff is wonderful too. I would highly recommend Black Hills Animal Hospital for your pet care - you won't regret it. more

While on vacation from Albuqueque New Mexico, we had an emergency with one of our pets. Our little dog "Cinder" got into a pack of ORBIT chewing gum and devoured it. Unfortunately, these new gums contain xylitol (an alcoholic sugar I think) which is lethal to pets. The RV park we were in (Flying J) gave us your number and address and we immediately rushed Cinder to you. Dr. Melissa Mez was there and instantly went to work. For the next three days she attended Cinder and through it all, Cinder came out with a clean bill of health. For us. Dr. Mez is Cinders' greatest hero. More so, we were shocked at the modest charges for her service. If we were a resident of Rapid City, It would be an honor to be a customer of this fine Animal Hospital. Furthermore, we were pleased with the entire staff at this hospital.
