I just had a wonderful chimney-sweepin' experience ! \r
Almost 2 years ago, a well-known nashville chimney-sweep co. told me\r
to; ""absolutely not light one more fire in my chimney,"" .. that it was\r
super dangerous,.. that it would ignite the chimney and, quite possibly, the\r
house, because of extensive creosote build-up. They said that I needed\r
a special $600 - $850 cleaning job, and probably a new metal lining as\r
well, (at least another $2,000.) \r
Well, ~ I didn't do the expensive cleaning, ( I figured it would be, at least for now, cheaper to just pay the gas bill,) even though, up to that time, I was totally heating my house with my nifty woodstove. I Did listen to them, about the danger, and didn't light even 1 more fire, ~ to be on the safe side.\r
So, when x-mas was around the corner, and I knew my daughter and her\r
new husband would be here, .. I got nostalgic for a fire, and looked on the\r
internet, and found this company, ~ out of mufreesboro. They came and\r
gave me a Free estimate, (which the other companies around here will not do, ) told me my chimney needed a brushing out, but wasn't too bad, and also let me know it was safe to burn a few more fires, ( I did , about 10 of them,) 'til they came back to clean my chimney. \r
They just left,.. they didn't even make a mess, and said my chimney's in great shape. They normally charge around $85 , I think , but mine was a tricky woodstove, that had to be not only pulled out, but completed re-caulked with furnace caulking, as well.\r
The total charge was $135.\r
These guys did a great job ! Yay !! \r
