I was craving wings so I went to the hammock and I have to say they were awesome. I wish they delivered because I want some right now. Can't wait to go back. more

Found a BOGO coupon in the Entertainment book that does not expire until Nov 2011. Was told new owner would not honor the coupon but would give us 10% off. Apparently this new owner wants to take advantage of the coupon advertising done by the previous owner but refuses to honor the coupons. Out of principle we left without ordering. This new owner has ticked off a potentially new regular customer. We were the ONLY customers in the place. more

Great news! The Black Hammock Restaurant is under new management as of February 1, 2011. Brand new owner and brand new chef! We still offer the same unique items that you love (frog legs, gator bites, and whole catfish). Come out and give us a try! Great times, great food, and great service! We have been to a bunch of the other airboat places around the area, but this one was the best by far!!!! We had a fantastic ride and saw a ton of gators. It was just a great place to spend a day because we took out airboat ride and then we had some gator bites at the restaurant afterword, after we were done eating they had some live music we could chill out listening to while we had our drinks. Even without the ride our trip would have been awesome. We entertained ourselves for pretty much the whole day. We got our pictures taken with the gator, fed some parrots, they have a HUGE gator and a bunch of other gators we checked out, and then we just wasted the rest of the day drinking our drinks and watching the sunset. Just simply a great time. Pros: not too far of a drive from disney and awsome nature Cons: I got nothing more

I had convinced a few friends to drive over from the Kissimmee area to meet me for a few drinks at one of my favorite bars. They were in love with the place as soon as they stepped out of their car, but had no idea what they were in store for.\r The bar had live music and a fundraiser going on, they were supporting the Crohn's & Colitis foundation and had free food and raffles. We learned that The Black Hammock had donated the space, free food and airboat tickets to be raffled off. \r It was nice to see, even in this tough economy people and business are still willing to give back for a great cause. \r Needless to say, my friends are more than willing to drive over this way anytime I want. Pros: Best views, great music and generous! Cons: NOTHING! more

My friends and I recently visited Orlando for a weekend getaway and stumbled upon The Black Hammock, just outside of Orlando. Just make sure you have correct directions before you leave. The mapquest directions were not exactly accurate. Once we found this amazing place right on the lake, we continued our weekend of relaxation. We had our pictures taken with their alligator and did a little shopping :) \r We assumed since it was Sunday that we might walk into the building and hear crickets but we figured we'd go ahead and check it out. Much to our surprise we walked in to find a cheerful crowd people coming in for the Sunday 2-for-1 Bloody Marys special, which were the best I have had in a long time. The place was packed and the energy was amazing which made the live band performance awesome, yet relaxing. A great place to see if you have never been before. Favorite place to hang out with friends! Not very many places have live music around here and lakefront water view! And I love the new tiki torches, it gives a tropical feel! I believe the restaurant is under different ownership and I don't think they care as much as the other owner. Definitely a fun time getting a drink there on the weekend :) Pros: secluded, beautiful, unique, relaxing scenery Cons: Some mosquitoes in the summer. Wear spray! more

Some places have cover charges for new yaers, but usually really bring something to the table. Not the case at the black hammock! It was a pathetic example of a New Years party. There was nobody there, the drinks were expensive, and the place was a mess. I'll never go back. It was a waste of money and time. It was amazing that so few people could desrtoy the restrooms so fast ,or is it that nobody cleans them at all. They were discusting. This may seem like a really bad review because it was a really bad experience. The black hammock has taken mediocrity to an all time low. By all means, save yourself the trouble and dont go there. Pros: It wasnt far from home. Cons: 10 dollar cover charge more

I had such a great time last week . I had an airboat ride , a cocktail on their bar terrace overlooking the lake, dinner at the restaurant, and enjoy the band at the Lazy Gator Bar. My friends were so happy to find this place. Pros: best place to relax in town more

this is a really unique place, we spent all sunday\r around 11 am we have an airboat ride, after the ride\r bloody mary at the lazy gator bar (terrace)\r 12.30 pm lunch at the restaurant..2 pm picture with a live gator, and shoping at the gift shop..\r 3 pm the band start to play...it was the perfect day\r No doubt, I recommend Black hammock!! Originally from Ohio, my daughter stayed in Orlando after graduating from UCF. She had her rehearsal dinner at the Black Hammock. This was a real treat for all the out-of-towners. This place is the Old Florida that I remember from back in the 1950's and 1960's. We had visits from a gator and a parrot. Took airboat rides. Danced to a really great band. The staff was very professional. The mood was fun and just a little bit crazy. Go there even if you're not getting married!\r P.S. If you have an alligator on your shirt, you probably won't like this place. Pros: Retro Florida, Exceptional Ambience (I hate that word) Cons: None, unless you have a hard time with a map more
