Poor service, room temperature food (for what was supposed to be hot), and bland flavors. 'Nuf said. Cons: Food, service, tables and chairs more

Our waiter was smug and unresponsive.We ignored him and enjoyed the occasion.The restaurant is well lit and decorated with beautiful art work.;the blending of old and new was well done. The Led Zepplin music was edgy, but misplaced.(try the ECM record label next time) The salads were delicious and entrees were tasty and well presented.BUT,we all had late night and following day stomach problems. iT RUINED THE VISIT. It was too high a price to pay !! more

This is NOT a tourist trap by any means & is a nice change from those that are prevalent in the historic district. No gimmics, just excellent quality food EVERY time with a great atmosphere & WONDERFUL service. I've eaten here at least a dozen times between my short time living in Savannah and every return trip. The service is always great & I too have a restaurant background and can be very critical. The servers are always well informed & very descriptive with menu & wine offerings. The changing art work is great. The service is great. One family trip to Savannah the week of the 4th of July, we were a group of 9 without a plan or a reservation. Within maybe 5 minutes, the manager opened the back private room just to accomodate us & as always everyone loved their meals. Can't say enough good about this, one of my very favorite restaurants. We got seated in the back room of the restaurant. If that happens to you, request to be seated elsewhere. With only 2 other tables of diners, it was very loud, probably because of the low ceiling and small size of the room. Other then that though, this was a good dining experience. I had a shrimp dish and my dinner date had the scallops...both were good. Service was good and prices seemed pretty reasonable. The one downside was the limited availability of wine by the glass. While food was reasonably OK but not more than that, the restaurant was loud, service was less than satisfying. More then anything, it seems that the restaurant used the fact that we had dinner with my parents who are not American, as a reason to provide us with a check of 20%!!!! Gratuity written by hand .... we left the restaurant with a bad taste. I would not recommend it. more

We got last minute reservations and ended up at the best table in the house. Let me tell you, these are the BEST shrimp and grits you will ever eat! Great, attentive service, but not overbearing. Pros: shrimp and grits, service, ambiance more

This is an amazing restaurant! The food is fantasic. In our group of 8, we all enjoyed our dishes and I tried most of them and they were all amazing. I live in a large city and have not had as good of a meal as I did at Bistro Savannah. The service is very friendly but not too rushed if you want to enjoy a relaxing, special occasion meal. WOW! Everything about this restaurant is fantastic. The menu is varied, but each dish our party ordred was cooked to perfection. Our favorites were the shrimp and grits appetizer and the roast duck entree. We also split a piece of pound cake with sauteed berries and ice cream, and that was delicious too. The service was top-notch and well informed on both the menu and wine list. Seating was promt. The tables are spaced perfectly, and the chairs are very comfortable. This is one of the best meals I've had anywhere on the east coast. I highly recommend a stop at Bistro Savannah when you're near City Market. more

I found dining in savannah disappointing/ having stayed in the river walk area(overpricedand marginal quality)/walking in the city market area i read bistro savannah's menu/made a reservation and hoped for the best/i'm glad i did/the meal was superb/our daughter(26)&son(24)had the duck (their personal favorite meal) and pronounced it the best they have had/my wife had the chix with blackberry bourbon sauce and I have to duplicate the sauce under threat of banishment/i had the flounder special with crab and shrimp topped with a sublime white sauce wow!!!/thresa our server was was everything one would expect out of a restaurant professional/ with 25 years in the business I'M a tough sell so take this review to heart / this is what what you should expect from a superbly run operation/ T. thank you for a great experience Pros: well trained staff, quality of food, professional but not Cons: parking, isn't located closer more

I always eat here when I am in Savannah. The barbecue grouper over grits is excellent. In a city full of overated restaurants, this one is a safe bet. more
