This place is horrible. I don't know anyone who would like this place. Sure some of the workers are nice, they have plenty of supplies and food BUT their grooming is terrible. I took my dog here to get groomed. honestly, I could've done a better job at home with dull scissors. They made him look so ugly. I was so sad. And on top of that they charged me $50 bucks. I had told them NOT to touch his head nor his tail and to start from his collar. I explained this to the groomer numerous times but she did not listen. I cam back to pick him up and his tail was shaved down and half his head was shaved. It was horrible. The most disgusting thing I have ever witnessed. They were very unprofessional. more

Having had a HORRIBLE experience at that atrocious place called ""PRIDE N JOY"" in Sherman Oaks, I had trepidations about ALL dog groomers in LA until I stumbled upon this little jewel of a place on Lankershim in NoHo. At the Bird House they always find time to fit my dogs in for grooming and - unlike PRIDE N JOY - they don't expect you to (1) bathe the dog prior to coming in (2) make sure that even the tiniest knot isn't visible and (3) stay on a regular service basis with them in order to make your dog look and smell wonderful! Plus, my dog LIKES these people (he hated the PRIDE & JOY staff). He doesn't return home with his genitals eviscerated and yelping in pain. Instead, he's all fluffy, playful and even comes back with a cute little bow in his fur! Oh, also they give out ""certificates"" - the ""GOOD DOG AWARD"" for grooming! Now, that's quality service with a smile! Plus - they're incredibly well priced and they don't keep your dog whining in a hot cage for 6 hours before calling you to come and pick your pet up (are you reading this, PRIDE & JOY??). I hope anyone who is currently shopping at or considering buying something from the Dog House has the chance to read this information first. Let me start off by saying that any place that is selling animals needs to be very carefully checked out and what you will most likely find is not something you could imagine being a part of by continuing to shop there. I purchased a puppy from the dog house and it was overprised, which I knew, and was supposed to come from a great breeder as well as have papers. I have done endless hours of research on the internet as well as made several calls to the midwest only to find out that my puppy came from a commercial breeder and was shipped by a broker who has over 700 dogs living on his property according to a report done by the USDA. At the time of the report the dogs and puppies were not being housed according to standard. I have also not yet recieved my puppies papers 2 months later. According to the breeder and the broker my puppy should have come home with her papers, however, the owner at the Dog House said they had to wait 3 weeks to get them in the store after filing the information. I have been unable to get a hold of him as he has not returned my calls. Please do not take this information with a grain of salt . These people are not running a healthy businness and will take advantage of you if they have a chance. Beware and do your research. There are a lot of sick puppies that have come out of this pet store and they will continue to sell them in any and all conditions as long as we continue to support there cause.
