Fun and educational!! 12/29/2005

The Binder Park Zoo is a great place, the best part being the African Savannah habitat. You can actually feed the giraffes. This is an educational and memorable experience for kids. The zoo has a nice petting zoo also. The concessions and gift shops are pricey like most tourist spots, the staff is so friendly. The animals in the front building change yearly and are great to see. A couple of years ago we saw koala bears! more

Great Fun 12/21/2005

The Binder Park Zoo is incredible for a small town zoo. There are four main areas - Africa, swamp land, kids area, and the rest. Africa is reached through a tram ride and the animals there are great. The swampland offers a nice walk and interesting facts. The kids area is a bit tired and could use a make over, but most kids do nt notice. the Wolves are awesome but the African dogs mostly sleep. Bring your own food. The food inside is pricey. more

Awesome Zoo! 11/28/2005

Wow!! I had never been to Binder Park Zoo before this past summer. It is over an hour away from our home, but we decided to go and give it a try. I am so glad we did! The animals are in their natural settings with lots of space to roam. The zoo is well-maintained and offers many shows for the kids to see animals up close. The Africa exhibit is super!! You have a chance to feed the giraffes! I would be willing to make the hour drive again for that! more

A great place 11/14/2005

This place is amazing!I went there last month. It was a bit chilly on that day. But the surroundings succeeded in removing the chill from the air and allowed us to enjoy a great day in the midst of all those lovely animals. Some of the animals were taken off exhibit because of the weather, but the other animals more than made up for the deficit. The place was clean, and the directions were pretty easy to follow. They even had a giraffe feeding event, where you could feed biscuits to the giraffe (the biscuits had to be bought at the counter but they were a bit expensive at a dollar a piece). Then there was this Wild Africa trip where they had recreated an African nature park. It was amazing. A good way to spend your weekend! more

Like Having Animal Kingdom Right Here in Michigan! 10/17/2005

This is the most wonderful zoo around! The Africa section features free running zebra and giraffes! There is even a section where you can feed the giraffes a cracker. My kids love that part! (They do charge for the crackers, but it isn't too much). The zoo is clean, and the animals are well cared for. It is a wonderful place to spend the day! more

I LOVE this zoo! 10/6/2005

This zoo is wonderful! The animals have large spaces to roam, while still being easy to see. There are no cages and the animals look well cared for. The zoo is always clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. The best part of the zoo is the African Exhibit. It is a huge area where zebras, giraffes, ostriches, and other animals roam freely. There is a deck where you can stand and feed the giraffes by hand. They come right up to you. The first time this happened I was overwhelmed by their size and beauty. My 2 year old daughter is always talking about feeding the giraffes crackers. This zoo may not have the largest selection of animals (no elephants, tigers, lions, bears), but they take care of the ones they have and offer their visitors an enjoyable experience. more

Great Zoo 9/7/2005

Binder Park Zoo is an excellent zoo, especially considering the size of town it is located in....They have all the basic zoo exihbits which are all done very nice and are located in a wooded area so it seems like the animals are more in a natural setting...but the best part to this zoo is the train ride out to Africa exhibit. Once you arive in the Africa exhibit you can feed giraffes, see zebra's, buzzards, and a host of other more exotic species and go on an awesome trail walk that takes you thru some rare bird exhibits, petting zoo, and a few other unique exhibits...Makes an excellent day trip!! more

Family Fun 8/19/2005

This is a fun place to spend some quality time with your family. They have a nice (although not real big) selection of animals to view. They also have many special events such as the Zoo Boo which is during Halloween. There is a gift shop where you can purchase souveniers to remember your day by. I believe admission is $10 per person. more

Fun Family Outing! 8/19/2005

Binder Park Zoo is a great local zoo! Lots of great animals and exhibits to see. We love Wild Africa and getting to hand-feed the giraffes is usually the highlight of our trip! While the daily rates are pretty steep for a local zoo, we choose to purchase the membership each year so when you divide the membership rate by the number of times we go as a family, it's a very inexpensive family outing! more

Fantastic Zoo 8/18/2005

Binder Park Zoo is a fantastic zoo to visit. It is not too far of a drive from Grand Rapids for a day trip with your family. Feeding the giraffe's is something you will never forget!! You will enjoy this day at the zoo just as much as your children will. Well worth the trip and money!! more

This is a great zoo! 8/16/2005

To take a train ride in a zoo is enough for me to visit it someday when I'm in the area. This is another review I'm printing for future reference. Thanks for all of the information you have provided here for us. more

Best zoo...EVER. 8/13/2005

The Binder Park Zoo is so huge and has pretty much any animal your heart could ever desire to see. Don't waste your time at John Ball Park (unless of course it's a free day..) Binder Park is a thousand times better & bigger & cleaner. You will not regret visiting this place. An Australian Walkabout & African Safari right in Battle Creek? I'll take it! more

Binder Park Zoo 8/7/2005

The Binder Park Zoo is a great place to bring the kids or even to go on a date with someone. It's a peaceful and entertaining place for the kids. There are new exhibits coming in all the time such as an African exhibit. During Halloween there is a "spooky" trail for the children to walk on and even get candy and other goodies when they dress up. It's a fun place to go to every year or two. more

A fun day for the family at the zoo! 7/28/2005

Binder Park Zoo is a wonderful little zoo. The Wild Africa section is a lot of fun-the kids can feed giraffes and see the amazing beautiful animals of Africa. The zoo has just enough to do, not too much and not too little. For young kids, you probably wouldn't even be able to tour the entire zoo in an outing (unless they have unusually long attention spans!). They do a great Boo Zoo program around Halloween that is a lot of fun for kids as well as adults! It has been the perfect zoo for us! more
