First of all, I'm an eastern Kentucky gal and we mountain women know our beans. I tried Billy Ray's for the first time today and ordered up my favorite meal -- soupbeans and cornbread, along with a side of coleslaw. Now that coleslaw was excellent! Fresh, crunchy, light on the mayo. But those beans? CANNED. Yep, canned. Now what chef/cook in their right mind would serve canned soupbeans in an eastern Kentucky restaurant? Those bad beans, along with the halo of cigarette smoke in the dining room, has taken away any desire I have to visit this place again.
