Customer service can make or break a business. Even the simplest thing can cause ripples that will have a much larger effect on your business. Because of a bad customer service experience I had, I am posting a review for the Big Easy Cajun on every review site I can. I work at a company that prides itself on customer service and ""giving customers the pickle."" If you don't know what I mean by ""giving customers the pickle"", you will in a minute. So I went to the food court at Tuttle Mall and began walking around trying to decide where buy some lunch. I have always enjoyed Burbon Chicken, so I thought I would get some at the Big Easy Cajun. Looking at the menu, I decided on a Regular Combo for 5.95 which comes with a choice of meat, 2 sides, and a choice of rice or noodles. So the server began by pulling out what was a rather small plate for the quantity of food they attempt to put on it. The first thing on my plate was rice, then my 2 sides - I chose potatoes and mac & cheese. At that point, the plate was completely full. I noticed from the customer in front of me, the chicken was then just piled on top of everything, making a complete mess. So when it came time to add my chicken, I asked if they could just put it on a separate plate so everything didn't get mixed together. What happened next just completely blew my mind. They actually pulled out little styrofoam bowl and came right out and told me I could have my chicken in that bowl, but I wouldn't be getting the normal amount. Thinking they didn't understand what I was asking I explained how I wanted the same amount of chicken that I was paying for, just on a separate plate. They then proceeded to tell me that they can't do that and that's now how the combo is, they would have to charge me for the second plate. OK, no problem, so I asked how much the second plate was thinking I'll pay the 10 extra cents or whatever. Instead, they seemed to get more upset with me and offer to put the chicken in the bowl and then give me a separate plate that I could dump my small bowl of chicken on! Figure that one out, folks. I have no idea. At that point, I gave up and said I was taking my business elsewhere. All they had to do was give me the pickle by just putting my chicken on a separate plate and I would have gone on my way a satisfied customer. Instead, they lost my business for good, and hopefully yours, as well. Any business that depends on customers, which is pretty much every business, should not be operating the way this one does. The Big Easy Cajun should not only lose your business, they should be out of business.
