When it first opened it was a nice average place, lots of goods but changed and now it's very expensive. Aside from being very expensive the RETURN policy is horrible. There is no return policy!!! You buy it you keep it or exchange it no money back, this is probably the only fish store that I know about that does that. They used to ge good but now it went to the motto, SELL SELL SELL. I now only get my items through the internet and they have good return policies. It really is not a pleasant place. more

I am an avid aquarist. I have 5 fish tanks ranging from 30 gal to 300 gal. When I first found out about Big Al's I thought it was great. Finally everything in one place. Then I started to notice that some of the pricing was....well weird to say the least. Things that I knew the price on already from other stores when I inquired on the same make and model in Big Al's the price was much higher. I thought they quoted me wrong. I went to Big Al's online and sure enough everything that I got a price on in the store was much MUCH lower online even with the shipping included. I was pricing a new 150 gal reef setup I wanted to do and when i compared Big Al's online to Big Al;s store if I bought everything except for the tank and stand(they don't ship them) I could save $487.00. I wrote to them online and did not get a response. Just something to think about. You can check for yourself. more

This is not only the biggest pet store in the area, but the only one completely devoted to aquatic pets and supplies. This store has it all! It's "Enter the Deep' showcase of marine and freshwater fish will be worth a visit even if you do not own any fish. Shark feeding Tuesday's allow customers to experience these wonderful animals live. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. You can find anything and everything you need for your aquarium here. The Big Al brand of products provides both top notch quality and incredible value. They offer custom services such as design your own aquarium. They have top of the line products along with a wonderful variety of freshwater and marine animals. What a welcome addition to Broward County! Finally an aquarium superstore for all of the fish lovers in South Florida. A great selection with a frequent buyer card..who could ask for anything more! They also have unbelievable aquariums set up to view. You can get great ideas although they are quite impressive and maybe a little advanced for the common aquarium owner. more
