I've found the staff to be helpful and plentiful so perhaps the management has replaced the help the previous reviewers encountered. Some things are more expensive than the big box stores but others are cheaper. I always find seasonal bargains, good prices on pet supplies, and a reasonable supply of garden items. more

They wanted over 4 bucks for an electrical connector that costs 89 cents at Home Depot. What a ripoff. more

It took me 20 minutes to find an employee to help me. When I finally did, I asked a simple question about my broken sink and got laughed at. Then they told me that maybe I should hire a plumber instead of trying to fix it myself. I have never felt so embarrassed in my life. I'll just research the problem on my own next time and order the parts online like the rest of the world. With attitudes and high prices like this, no wonder ""Small Town USA"" is a thing of the past. more

I will NEVER shop here again, and I've been a loyal customer ever since I moved to Yucaipa 8 years ago. I purchased a pair of bolt cutters to remove a lock that I had lost the key to. After I went home I actually found the missing key. I visited the store the next day to return the cutters, and was denied by the cashier. I asked to speak to a manager. The manager then told me that ""We do not do tool rentals, and we can not take that back."" REALLY!? I pointed out that the cutters were brand new, never used, and did not even have a scratch on them like you would expect to see after cutting any sort of lock. I also pointed out that there is no mention of tools like this not being able to be returned on their receipt, or posted ANYWHERE in the store. My valid points were ignored, and I was sent on my merry way with a product I no longer needed. I was made to feel like some sort of lowlife that was trying to pull a fast one on a local business. I'll be spending my money elsewhere from now on. I would much rather go to ACE or drive down the hill to avoid having to worry about ""Are they going to take this back?"" Shame on you True Value, or Best Lumber, or whatever you are calling yourselves these days. Grow up and start treating your customers with respect, instead of thieves and criminals. Not everyone is trying to get one over on you, some of us just want to be treated fairly. more
