Good price, but you pay later at the vet for Kennel Cough 8/28/2012

Employees are all very young, and seem somewhat uninformed. Staff cannot explain why you can't physically view the boarding area where your dog is going - you can only see through the observation area, which is just a hallway full of cages. They do have live webcams, which is cool, and they email you a picture of your dog, but my dog looked nervous, and came home with a case of Kennel Cough. Prices are decent, but the money you save will be spent at the vet on antibiotics anyway - so go to a nicer place! more

Best Friends of N.Plainfield NJ IS THE BEST! My 1 1/2 year old English Bulldog "Loki" is my absolute best friend and I don't just trust her with anyone! I went to a couple different places before we found Best Friends in North Plainfield. Because Loki is a bigger, more active dog I really needed a place that understood, welcomed and appreciated this. Loki loves it there and so do I! The place is absolutely enormous and has the room, caring staff and professional ability to take care of bigger more active dogs. Unlike many other places they also separate the dogs in playgroups based on their temperments and size. Oh, & the "doggy web cam" is the best! Not that I need to, but I can watch Loki all day in her playgroup, in grooming, wherever she is to see what she's doing! I often find when I look that she's either happily playing with the other pups or cuddled up with her human counselor getting lots of petting and smiles from the wonderfull, professional staff! Animal lover 2/23/2010

We moved to New Jersey in 1999 and have used Best Friends on a very regular basis for our dogs and cats. We have only had wonderful experiences. The staff greets Raven with love and affection every time we walk in the front door. We can leave her at Best Friends and know she is well take care of and happy when we are gone. Best Friends gives us great piece of mind! more

Happy Dog Owner! 10/27/2009

We have used Best friends for over 10 years. My dog seem very happy there and the staff always plays with her and takes good care of her. The only drawback is if your dog is there more than two days, pay for the bath before leaving. It is well worth it because if you don't, your pet will stink! Other than that, very please with the place. more

Best Friends Rocks! 5/3/2009

I have used Best Friends for years and I think they are by far the best out there. I just had my dogs in there for Easter and this was my best experience yet, when I mentioned that to the girls before I left they told me there are new managers there that are re-organizing. I told them it shows and we would be back.I agree it stinks to have to pay for the "extras" but I've found that at pretty much every kennel I've checked out and with Best Friends I get a report card sent home and a picture of my dogs doing their walks and play times emailed to me while I'm away. I've never heard of any place else doing that! more

Unhappy dog owner 11/27/2007

I just picked up my dog from a 3 night stay at best friends and I am very unhappy. My dog is very sick, wont eat and may have a case of kennel cough. This facility is not up to par and I would not recommend it to anyone. I basically paid to get my dog sick. Not acceptable. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING. more
