Best Friends Pet Care

I have been bringing my dog Lilly to Best Friends for over 2 years for daycare, boarding and grooming. I initially had Lilly in a kennel for daycare until the staff suggested I try her in the group DayCamp. I was a bit nervous about how she would handle being in a room with so many other dogs, but the professional staff monitored her and the other dogs closely and sure enough she passed the screening. Now I have a VERY happy dog who comes home exhausted and it ended up saving me money! Her excitement starts when we pull in the driveway and continues as she pulls me to the door, through the lobby and down to the DayCamp playroom (no exaggeration). And when I need it, the van service will come pick her up where I work and drop her off for me when I'm ready to go home. Can't be more convenient. Aside from the fact that it's all inside, this is the best kennel I've ever entrusted my dogs to. I leave them with Best Friends usually once or twice a month for long weekends, and a couple times a year for a longer (week +) stay. They come back exactly the way they went in, happy, beautiful, relaxed. One of my big boys even jumps on the door to open it when we get there. I do like the different type of packages they offer which makes it easy to customize for each dog (my two don't share similar interests or activity levels). Thunder always like Play Group, he's a social butterfly. Lightning has always been a little more reserved and almost skittish with other dogs ('cept Thunder), so he can have cuddletime and bedtime story instead of playgroup. I went away on vacation and left my wheaten there. My dog came back 2 pounds lighter and completely matted. All they do is feed and board, they do not even provide the basic needs that a dog (especially a long haired breed) requires. My dog was returned to me with clumps of mats the size of my fist; beginning from the top of her head going around her ears all the way down her chest. The best part was that the groomer had the audacity to charge me for grooming and told her manager that she did not notice any mats. I do not believe that they are very caring to animals; if they were, they would realize how painful these mats are and would not allow a pet (which many of us consider family) to get that way, let alone have the nerve to return the pet in the NEGLECTED condition that she was returned to me in.
