self-service? 10/20/2012

i usually find everything that i need in this store but i usually find them myself. so if you are in a hurry and you are looking for an item you don't typically buy, perhaps try another store because its difficult getting any polite help from people who work here. more

DONT LET GEEK SQUAD INSTALL YOUR STEREO! 7/29/2011

I went to Best Buy to get a basic stereo and a couple of door speakers for my work truck. Kris, the kid working there told me it should be ready by 6pm and that he would call me once he was through. I showed up around 6:15pm, still no call and seen my truck is still being worked on. I walked by again around 6:30 and saw my truck parked outside the shop, still no phone call... Finally, around 6:45 I had to ask if my truck was ready. By now Kris, the original installer was gone and the new guy was the one who told me my truck was ready. I got into my truck and instantly saw that there was a crack on the plastic acrylic that covers the gauges, several cracks on the dash, a half inch gap in the steering column panel, and to top it off I couldn more

Fools shop here 2/13/2011

This store is obviously managed by amateurs. Besides being arrogant the employees are condescending to customers - particularly the managers. If you want problems, lies, and a big waste of time - shop at BestBuy. \r \r I left and will not be back. \r They did not get, deserve, or will ever get, any of my money.\r \r My problems was with a promotion Kodak was running. The clowns here refused to honor their own advertisement. Making up rules that don't exist and generally being stupid. \r \r Why would anyone put up with this and shop here? The prices are not that great. They don't have most things in stock. And the workers are just plain rude. \r \r I get the feeling most of the employees, including the management, have a disdain for customers.\r \r Circuit City was like this also, and look what happen to them. I hope these losers end up in the same boat: Out of Business. They certainly are doing a good job trying. \r \r With all the unemployed people you would think they could find employees that more

Good Selection 8/3/2006

I really like this Best Buy. I've been to the Best Buys in E. Palo Alto and the one up in Daly City/Colma, too, but this is still my favorite. The video game selection seems to have waned a bit (better selection at an EB Games, for sure), but the DVD section is usually well-stocked, and the CD selection is really good (I sure do buy a ton of CDs...) I've gotten some good deals on computer hardware here, too, but lately I've noticed their prices aren't as competitive as I'd thought.\r \r For big ticket items, Circuit City (there's on in San Mateo and one in Daly City, that I know of) has a low-price guarantee. Of course, it looks like manufacturers have split the market -- the brands of stereo equipment that Circuit City carries seems to be mostly distinct from that which Best Buy carries. Somewhat insidious!\r \r This Best Buy now has a Magnolia Home Theater section, though, which is awesome, if you're looking to drop $5k on *each* of your home theatre components... But it's neat to more

Adequate Customer Service At Best 11/11/2005

This store always has tons of employees milling about that can help you, unfortunately that's the last thing they usually do. The last time I was in there an employee almost hit me with a bean bag that he was throwing at his female co-worker behind the counter. This store has some positive attributes, but professionalism is definitely not one of them. I used to work down the street and visit this store often because I LOVE electronics but I can literally walk around in the store for an hour and nobody will ever ask me if I need help. The service has been bad since the store opened. I know they don't pay much because I tried to work here once and I also know the store manager who used to work at the local Home Depot down the street. If I am going to do a big electronics purchase from Best Buy, I am going to drive down to the Palo Alto store where I have consistently gotten prompt, courteous, professional service. I can't stand the employees at this store, no matter how cheap the price more

good place 5/31/2005

they have a wide selection to choose from but the problem i have with them is that they are slow and they are always pack with people trying to get there alarm and sound systems installed. so be prepared to wait awhile before you get help. they do have great service though. more

Best Selection Ever 5/22/2005

This store has everything I need. One of the best selctions of music ive ever seen, tons of games, and hundreds upon hundreds of movies to choose from. They actually carry a majority of rock music, which is rare for most stores ive seen *coughFYEcough*. I bought a disc scrach repairkit from them a while ago, so I could fix one of my PS2 games. I used the repairkit on the disc, and it made it a lot worse. It didnt fix anything, and actually added more scratches. I brought both the disc repairer and my game back to them, and they refunded the money for the repairkit AND replaced the game, for free. That is great service. more

Editorial review from Insider Pages 1/15/2005

I prefer to shop at this Best Buy for all of my boyfriends video games. There is an entire section on the newest and oldest video games merchandise. Best buy often has competitive prices. Most of all I love the fact that there are staff overflowing all over this store. It seems that no matter where I turn there is someone to help me or get me help. I have purchased over 50 games and gadgets from this store and will continue to in the future! more

This is the only electronic store anyone needs to know about. Best Buy always has great deals on video games, as well as DVD's. Their ads are filled with pluses every week. The customer assistance at Best Buy is always for the customer, and if you tell them that you don't need any help they will not bug you. more
