Bern-Mas Apartments

This apartment complex is a good place...the staff is good, They are very strict about the rules here. Ive seen many people be kicked out for not following rules. I have been living here for more than 4 years and I like it here. It’s usually quiet here.... I personally think this is a good apartment complex the price isn’t to high, the apartment is big in the inside with a lot of space I have no plans to go no where. Dont listen to all the negative comments here ppl, cuz at times its nothing but lies. Check it out yourself and drive the place at night to really see how it is... My only bad experience was that when my neighbors below occasionally smoked, which was alot of smoke the smoke would sometimes come upstairs. Luckily, they moved out a good while ago. So I don’t have no complaints. more

My girlfriend and I have a 1 bdrm apartment and its very clean and well maintained. Its not luxurious, but if price, cleanliness and nice folks are more important to you, this is a great place. The building is old, which I think is great because it makes the rent not to exspensive. The maintenance staff is great though and everything is very well kept up. The manager is super nice and has always been really helpful whenever we need anything. They are very strict about rules but im okay with that. What apartment can you rent that doesnt have rules? I havent had my car towed, I guess its because i follow the parking rules!!!!! I feel the same way that the other happy people feel... Check this place out for yourself!!! more

I cannot give an opinion of my stay at Bern Mas Apartments because I chose an apartment in Metairie instead (preferred to be away from the east and closer to my job) but Janice made every effort to make me a tenant. She quickly took pictures of the apartment I was interested in and emailed them to me which were good quality btw. I am from Alabama so she was basically my virtual tour guide. She is polite I have never had an issue with her being rude and unpleasant. She was willing to work with me!. I don’t know what anyone else encountered my experience with Janice was a satisfying one. She will answer every question you have (thanks for your patience Janice). This place looks real nice and the apartment that she showed me had carpet, white painted walls, and looked super clean, you can tell that it had been remolded. I would definitely consider moving here again. more

I am very surprised with all of the bad reviews. Before me and husband had moved to this location I had READ ALL THE REVIEWS ON THIS SITE! I even went to yahoo, apartment reviews so on and so forth! However, wouldn't it be common sense not to park in the areas that are not designated parking spot. If you got a parking pass like we did and didn’t double park then your car was fine. All I'm trying to say is, it’s called common sense come on people. The manager is far from being rude, ghetto & ruthless. Janice is nothing but down to earth & REALLY WORKS WITH YOU with anything, The manager does her job and she does care , she will do what she has to do too make sure that we are okay. I will say this there are different types of tenants the ones' who won't take responsibility of their mistakes and then the one who respects the rules and go on about their own business. Bern Mas Apartments has been my home for a little over 2 years and I have nothing bad to say about this place. The office manager Janice is a very genuine person and she cares about people. She will go out of her way to help anyone and that’s the truth. Unlike some apartments this is one place where there are no killings and everyone knows you and will look out for you. I’m more than sure that the ad reviews that has been left on this site are from old tenants that couldn't have their way in the situation and felt the need to come on here and speak bad about this place, please keep that in mind when reading these reviews. Everyone will not always be happy especially if she has to evict them. Take it from me you will not know what it’s like to live here until you try it for yourself. There has never been a point where I felt disrespected or threatened. The maintenance is on time with making repairs. About the towing of cars Ms. Janice made it very clear where everyone was supposed to park at, there were spots setup for visitors to park, and also passes were given out to everyone. So if you parked your car where it wasn't supposed to be then yes it was towed, they sent out flyers telling everyone the parking rules and they also said they wasn't responsible if your car was towed. The apartments are a real nice size and the property is very well maintained. LOOK INTO IT FOR YOURSELF. more

Do not move here this is the most disgusting place to live. its so ghetto and dirty. the office manager is a straight bi*** she doesn't have no respect for no one. all she do is collect the rent. she has the nastiest attitude in the world, and if you ask her who owns the building she won't tell you she will fight you curse you out put you out and take all your stuff to her house she needs to be fired. i know there's rules everywhere you go, but living back here is ridiculous. im warning you dont do it. listen to all the negative comments on this page.. and they will tow your car more

PLEASE DO NOT RENT ANY APARTMENT AT THE BERMAS APARTMENTS. THE MANAGER HAS A VERY BAD ATTITUDE, THEY TOW YOUR CAR AWAY EVEN IF YOU WORK FOR A ELDERLY PERSON FOR A HOME HEALTH AGENCY. SHE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THE DRUGS BEING SOLD OR THE FIGHTING OR THE ROACHES EVERYWHERE. SHE ONLY WANTS THE RENT. AND SHE WILL NOT TELL YOU WHO IS THE OWNER OF THE COMPLEX. THE PROJECTS WAS BETTER THAN THESE APARTMENTS. BUT AS RUDE AS SHE IS, SHE WILL ANSWER TO SOMEONE. SOON I HOPE!!!!!!!!! more

THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX IS GHETTO , THEY WILL TOW YOUR CAR AT 3 AM EVEN IF THE PARKING SPOTS ARE CONFUSING WHICH THEY ARE FROM RESIDENTS. LOUD MUSIC , FIGHTS AND ROACHES IN THE COMPLEX HEED THE WARNING TO NOT MOVE HERE ITS NO PLACE TO RAISE YOUR KIDS. I EVEN HAD A STRANGE GUY KNOCK ON MY DOOR AT 3 A.M HE WAS DRUNK. I Have lived here since Hurricane Katrina and i must say that this is a very nice place to call home. I have never had a problem with the Manager nor the staff, everybody is friendly and the manager will help you if ever your in need. I think the problem with most tenants and people in general are that they don't adapt well to changes; new rules have been set out and lots of people are upset at the changes. But all in all who doesn't want to live in a safe environment. I love the new changes being made to Bern Mas apts and i applaud the manager on being able to turn things around for us all! If you are looking for a great place that is safe this is your place. come see for yourself and don't just trust our words, because you have to know that anger post come from the wrong place. THERE IS A NEIGHBOR THERE NAMED SHANTELL & LYNETTE THEY HAVE TO BE THE LOUDEST MOST COMMON WOMEN IN THE APARTMENTS...DON'T MOVE THERE THE WALLS ARE PAPER THIN, THE APARTMENT MANAGER MANAGES NOTHING BUT THE RENT...DON'T MOVE THERE HEED THE WARNING.
