I have visited several ""contemporary"" service churches. Berean had the best ""contemporary"" service that was balanced both in the sound/acoustics and between the words and music. I went on a Sunday evening and the Sanctuary was not full, but I could hear the congegation's singing. The sermon was biblically sound and gave me stuff to think and make decisions about. Within two weeks of visiting, I had two or three responses from volunteers by e-mail and phone offering further participation opportunities. But the photo wall showing church board members, picturing only males, was a bit of an ideological turn-off.
Pros: good contemporary, variety of programs, near I-35E
Cons: women can't lead?, toward edge of metro, long sermon
