This was the second major project we contracted with Bennett. The first was two years ago and was a complete renovation of our kitchen. When it came time for exterior work we called Bennett immediately. All of the work was completed on time. The workers were very professional, exhibited respect for our property and landscaping, cleaned up at the end of each day, invited questions and comments, and took great pride in their work. First rate contractor!! more

I had replacement windows put in my upstairs. I am very happy with the quality of the windows and the workmanship. Also, everything was done on time and when I went upstairs to clean up the mess I thought I'd be left with there was nothing! All I had to do was re-hang my curtains. The kitchen renovation results contained professional competence and attention to accuracy, timeframes,and strong communication with homeowners. Additionally, adaptations that were needed for phyical limitations were completed in an innovative manner and far exceeded expectations. The sequencing of work among the experts was seamless and follow up communication about progress and supply arrival and installation was also seamless. The professional estimator's assessment was done with high grade material, but cost conscious at the same time. The Bennett team listen and understand the needs of the homeowners and then develop a design plan that implements each and every detail of the requested design. What a pleasure to work with people who are good at what they do and do it completely, on time and keep your home neat while it is occurring! more

Bennett Contracting Inc. did a major â??curb appealâ?? update on my home. The building materials, roll off, inspector etc. showed up at the designated time and all materials were the correct size, color and model the first time around. There were no delays encountered for any of those details. The workmen were very professional. I believe I received good value for the money I spent. I contracted with Bennett Contracting to install aluminum siding on the side of my house. Besides shortchanging me on the work and materials the company: (1)Never called me while I was waiting to inform me when the materials were coming in. (2)called me and told me when they were going to install the materials rather than appropriately discussing dates that were good for both parties. (3)Tried to overcharge me by not including my deposit in the amount oweed when they billed me. I am disappointed and would not suggest using this company. RESPONSE FROM Bennett Contracting: I have asked our estimator to respond to Mr Sonenbergâ??s concerns. Here is a copy of his letter. Gregor Bennett Jackson, President [g.jackson@BennettContracting.com] 4/22/2010 Dear Mr. Sonenberg: I agree that Bennett had a contract to replace storm damaged aluminum siding on your house. I do not agree that Bennett tried "shortchanging" you "on the work and materials." We replaced eleven pieces of siding, exactly as detailed in our written contract and even left the extra panels for you at no charge. Ordering Materials: Upon receipt of your approved contract on March 4th, we created a job file and placed a material order on March 10th. As I explained to you at the time, the materials were not in stock locally and had to be special ordered and that I would contact when they were received to arrange a time for the installation. Scheduling: As we discussed, your project would take half a day and the work could be done entirely form the outside. I did schedule the work and you later canceled that date, so began leaving messages at youâ??re your home to re-schedule. Those messages were not returned, but finally I was able to speak with your wife on April 7th and explained that if we could "fill in" the work on a free afternoon we could get it done soon. Her response was "Thatâ??s fine, come anytime." Based on that, we scheduled the work and completed it on April 12th. Statements / Invoices: Included in our billing envelope along with a customer satisfaction survey your received an invoice for the job and a statement showing all payments received. Your deposit was shown on the statement, with the balance due highlighted in the lower right corner. No attempt was made to deceive you with regard to your deposit, in fact your deposit was held in an escrow account, as required by NYS law and not even applied to your account until the work was complete. We chose Bennett by the way they did their other projects. We observed their cleanliness, timeliness and professionalism. On our project it wasn't any different. The job was well done and completely very quickly. Definitely a good decision. We only wished they installed the windows instead of a different company. more

Early in the winter our sky light in our living room (cathedral ceiling) was leaking during a driving rain. I received a call back within one day, when it was viewable (weather started to get wintery right away) we got an inspection and a quote. They ordered the replacement part, and then we waited for weather to clear. As soon as possible, the window was repaired - and our other two sky lights inspected and cleaned. The only evidence that they were there is the clean sky lights and the repair. more

Bennett Contracting had done my friend's kitchen, which looked really great, so I decided to use them for an addition on the back of my house. I called them and talked to George, who sat down with me and discussed the job. Bennett Contracting was very professional and did very good work. If you are not sure about what you want to do, I think it is a good idea to meet with them because they always have ideas, things that you do not think of. We requested proposals from and interviewed several local companies before deciding to use Bennett Contracting. Their price and our interview with them was what made us choose them. They added 2 bedrooms to our existing house and, even though it has been a couple of years since the remodel, it still looks like new. Working with Bennett Contracting was terrific. They were clean, quiet, on time, and came in ahead of schedule. They also stayed on budget even though we changed a couple of things along the way. We were actually disappointed when they left because they were so nice to talk to everyday. The crew chief, Dean, was a pleasure to work with, as was the sales representative, Steve, who was at our house every other day to make sure that everything was on schedule. Steve was the one who initially sold us on using Bennett Contracting because he was concerned with our well-being and making sure that everything was just right. He also was very knowledgeable of the work in addition to the financial aspect of it. He was a very important link between us and the company. We have already recommended Bennett Contracting to friends who have used them and been very pleased. Everyone should have the same terrific experience that we had with remodeling. Remodeled my kitchen 3 years ago. Lead carpenter was very professional and did wonderful work. Job was completely in a timely manner. We are very happy with the results. more
