I just want to say that I had my lasik yesterday. I had been thinking for lasik for a while and when I finally decided I would do it, I jumped at the opportunity for Dr. Benjamin and his staff to take care of my vision correction. I will say I was so scared during the procedure that I choked a stuffed dog to death, but no other place could have gotten me on the table in the first place! This morning I had my follow up and it was amazing to be told I have 20/15 vision. I just want to say there were 3 reasons why I chose the Benjamin Eye Institute. First, I have friends who've had lasik and he came recommended multiple times even by people who chose other places to have Lasik done. Second, when I went in, the staff was extremely professional and friendly. The lab tech was very nice and calming as she performed the preliminary tests for the Doctor. While I was panicking inside, she reminded me that first I needed to be a candidate and second, the doctor was among the best. When I met with the Lasik coordinator, Mayka, many of my fears washed away. She explained the procedure to me without any sales pressure and was so patient I knew right away I'd be a fool to go anywhere else. She was honest with me every step of the way and it was like she read my mind as we discussed my fears. For my pre-visits and my surgery, all of the assistants were amazingly friendly and professional. I honestly couldn't ask for more from a lasik experience. Third, Dr. Benjamin himself was also nice and professional. He had a humor to boot. He is very thorough and has a high success rate at performing these procedures because he doesn't gamble with potential dangers with the procedures. When he found scaring on my retina, he immediately helped me locate a professional to make sure it wouldn't impede the lasik and also to monitor my health. Fortunately it was nothing that could prevent me from the surgery and luckily my health is fine too. BUT, he gets kudos for checking and informing me of something that wasn't caught throughout my adult life AND being that cautious and honest. If you are considering lasik, he should be at the top of your list. Your eyes are very very important and the last thing you want to risk is your vision or going to some place that sees you as a number and spits you out when you're done. The procedure for me was stressful and in hindsight, which is now 20/15, going with Dr. Benjamin and his staff was the best decision I could have made and did make! :-) more

Since coming to this one of a kind dental practice my teeth have been so much happier. I've become a better brusher and flosser and I've begun using a mouth guard to battle my bruxism. Unlike every dentist I visited before her, Dr. Benjamin speaks to me conversationally and dispenses advice with a knowledgeable air that's also very accessible and actually makes me want to take action. There's none of that dental fear mongering or cosmetic upselling at this office. This place is special, in a way that anyone who's been a patient here can attest, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. I'll continue going (really far) out of my way to come here, I can't imagine trusting anyone else with my smile. more

Dr Benjamin is a superb dentist, with extraordinary technical expertise. Her office has state-of-the-art technology, which allows patients to understand their dental problems and the proposed solutions. Elena is also a very nice, kind person, who helps even the most nervous patients deal with their dental issues. I recommend her with great enthusiasm! The staff is also super nice and super helpful. Ask for Larisa for your hygiene appointment. She is very gentle and caring. 5 stars! more

I came in to see Dr. Benjamin with the problem of dry eyes... In modern world a lot of people have this problem due to spending a lot of time in front of the computers... A lot of my friends recommended me Dr. Benjamin and i decided to come to his office.... The first impression when i opened the door-was amazing modern light office with a very comfortable waiting room and big optical boutique! I was very surprised to find there my favourite designers frames!!! And at the end of my visit i got the pair of the beautiful Roberto Cavalli's sunglasses with the help of nice and helpful optician who has a great taste!! Anyways, let's talk about my experience.. So, the receptionist was very friendly and helped out to fill my paperwork, so i could get in really fast without waiting... Then i was taken to the examination room and Dr. Benjamin's assistant took my medical history, wrote down the symptoms and performed the necessary tests... Then I got to see Dr. Benjamin..- i must say that he is very experienced ophthalmologist and i could feel it from the first seconds of talking to him.... when i explained my problem of dry eyes and said that i am using artificial tears but they don't help much, he recommended me to put plugs into my tear ducts. As he explained that this non-surgical procedure allows your own tears to bathe your eye for a longer period of time...I decided to try.. And to my big surprise-this procedure took seconds and was completely painless!!! After that i don't have problems of dry eyes anymore and highly recommend plugs for everyone who experiences the same problem....And one more thing about Dr. Benjamin-he has a great personality and really cares about specific problems of each patient... Overall it was a great experience and i am always coming back to Dr. Benjamin's office with great pleasure!! more

I had high hopes for Dr. Benjamin - the office is very nice, and the front desk was very friendly and helpful. But after being taken into the back, I had one assistant do my intake and several tests and exams. I told her my symptoms very specifically. Then she dilated my eyes and said it would be a few minutes until I could have my next tests. Then I waited for about a half hour, then another assistant came in and did all the same tests again. Another half hour, and the same assistant came back and did the tests for a third time. Finally, 90 minutes after being taken into the room, the doctor finally arrived. After talking to me for five minutes, he determined I needed a different test based on my symptoms - the same symptoms I told the assistants. But that test can't be done with dilated eyes, so could I come back? He was very brusque. When I said I wanted the most accurate results possible, he said we should wait. I told him I didn't want to pay for another visit, so he said fine, we'll do the test. I asked him why they dilated my eyes earlier, and he barked ""Until I come in you haven't seen a doctor."" After the test he told me I had nothing wrong with my eyes. When I told him again of my symptoms he threw his hands up and said I should consult a neurologist. My appointment was at the end of the day, and he and the staff seemed really ready to go home. I was very put off by his demeanor.
