Rip off!! Go Elsewhere! 5/10/2011

I'm afraid to say that this business is suffering from an inability to stay in the Market due to exhorbitant overhead costs that they take out on the customer! The work they did was fine and my technician was very nice and clean but to say they are overpriced is an understatement! I was charged nearly $1,000 for someone to go into my basement and attach a 3' split, aluminum vent to my water heater and heater. I could have done this work myself! When I made the appointment, I asked what the charges would be - the appointment gal said it's $60 for a visit but they charge by the project, not the hour. I thought this seemed reasonable. When I was told the total charges would be $948 I was appalled! I spoke with the owner who said they charge $160 per hour and that the girl should not have told me they don't charge by the hour. In addition, my plumber never alerted me as to the costs or estimates. At one point during the work, they left and returned with a temporary vent - this little more

At one point during the work, they left and returned with a temporary vent - this little favor ended up turning into a $300 shower, evidently. (Materials I later found out were only $60!) The owner thought he was doing me a favor by reducing the total to $600 (which I still cannot afford). When I said I did not expect to pay more than $250 - $300 for this job, the owner laughed. Unbelievable! PS I told the owner i would be writing these reviews. I don't want to put him out of business - he just needs to reconsider his business model! more

Pricey 2/22/2006

The quality of work was good but the price was out of site. I was given no estimate. Why would I need an estimate for the replacement of a 4" piece of pipe near my pool motor. The last time similiar work was done at my home the cost was 1/2 of the current price. $205.00 for the job? I guess I'm in the wrong business. They of course are not interested in any resolution. Pros: Work was OK Cons: To Expensive more

Over polorizing the problem you have 7/11/2005

I hired then for fixing a leakage between the main line to the meter outside on the pavement. I called Benedict & Benedict because I have seen their truck in the Linda Vista area in Pasadena a couple of time. the receptionist on the phone appear very helpful. First she told me their schedule is pretty booked for the week, but I explained to her about my situation, that I worry some pedestraint might get hurt, so she sent someone out on that day just to see . The plumber stopped by, and he said he will have to take part of the lawn out and pulled the PVC pipes from the other end, since the leakage occurs right at the edge of the lawn where the PVC pipes goes underneath the pavement to the others side of the small lawn , where the water meter is. He said the whole job takes a day and a half, with digging up a strip of the lawn. The whole job is about $800 to $900. So the next day came, you know what, he did not even have to dig up any lawn, just cut a small little patch about 12 more
