This was my first experience with an appraisers, so I'm not sure how Ben compares to others. I was surprised by how much guesswork and subjectivity was in the process. Ben had an assistant who also gave her opinion, and that was reassuring. However, I left feeling uncomfortable with the way Ben handled the specs of my ring that had been printed on my band. For half, he worked numbers hoping to reach those specs, and half of the details were ignored. I was surprised and will seek a 2nd appraisal. more

I highly recommend Mr. Gordon to others. Mr. Gordon and his assistant were professional and friendly, explaining to me everything they were doing during the appraisal. I really enjoyed sitting next to Mr. Gordon and watching the process. I called other jewelers about getting an appraisal, but they only had a gemologist in-house once every 3 weeks. He hours and location were very convenient. I would go back to him for other appraisal needs. more

From the moment you enter, you know you are working with a group of professionals. Mr. Gordon and his team tell you what they are doing in terms the non-professional understands. It was a learning experience, more than the piece appraised, also about grading methodology and the gemstone business. Wonderful experience! Went to Mr. Gordon for a ring apprasial, he does everything in front of you and is very precise. His prices are excellent, definetly recommend. I will be going back to get wedding bands done. Very satisfied!!! more

My experience was Excellent! 3/15/2011

Mr. Gordon was wonderful in allaying my fear that my engagement ring might have been compromised. He was friendly and calm in explaining his approach. He verified the GIA number and checked the integrity of the prongs and the whole ring. His wife Linda was also very helpful & friendly. The office atmosphere was professional & friendly...no overselling. I will certainly come back and recommend them to others. more

I found out about the Jewelry Judge through a google search. Every one of their reviews recieved 5 stars versus the other companies. Also they were the only business that listed an type of pricing information. Mr. Gordan and his wife were very nice and inviting. Also he was great to work with and had a nice sense of humor. I would definitely recommend him to everyone I know. more

A Grandmother's wedding ring for a granddaughter's engagement 2/22/2011

My daughter Jessica never met her grandmother but with the help of Ben, she will be wearing the same diamond in her engagement ring! For a father what a blessing to see the joy in my daughter's eyes to have a piece of her ancestory with her now for ever. somethings are worth much more than money or jewels more

I have used Ben Gordon as an appraiser since 1989 and have always been impressed with his service. Your jewelry is never out of your sight for a moment and you have ample opportunity to ask questions and observe how appraisals are done. It is very interesting to watch and always an educational experience. more

Highly Recommend. Mr. Gordon and his assistant Kristi were thorough and careful yet moved very efficiently and had me in-and-out in under an hour. They were right on with nearly every aspect of the diamond before seeing the official GIA report. Diamond never leaves your sight. They clean the diamond before and after, and even give you a cleaning gift at the end. Highly recommended. more

Jewelry Appraisal Experience 10/18/2010

Mr. Gordon was exceptional. His knowledge and skill spoke for themselves. He was able to appraise the diamonds color and clarity within 5 points. He did all this without looking at the AGS certification that came with the diamond. He will definitely get my business for all my jewelry appraisals. A delightful experience. more
