Great Place 2/9/2010

Belmont Animal Hospital is wonderful. i have 4 dogs that go there on a regular basis and they love going to see Dr. Rinker and the gang there. I currently have a sick doggie that is in the hospital there recovering, they are taking such good care of him and are very supportive of my family both emotionally and financially. It is such a relief to know that he is in good hands. They also communicate with me exceptionally well and call me at anytime there is an improvement or a change. Pros: best care more

Belmont Animal Hospital is LACKING 11/15/2009

We are new to North Carolina and I boarded my older poodle here for 12 days & was thoroughly disappointed with the service. Linda the office manager was initially sweet and made us feel our dog would be well cared for. My daughter stopped by the office to bring meds & additional supplies for our poodle and was very rudely attended. The heavy set gal at the desk was engaged on the phone, to what appeared to be a personal call and didn't bother to acknowledge my 42 year old daughter's presence...if she didn't acknowledge a human, how well did they attend to my pooch??? We returned from our trip & went to pick up our poodle...first the girl at the desk...a different one this time, told us an injection was made to our dog...when I questioned this, since our dog already had this in the spring, the girl looked further & said no it wasn't given. Secondly, when our poodle came out, she was wet & scraggly...looking nothing at all like the pooch we dropped off. I asked the attendant "What H more

NOT A PLACE TO TAKE A DOG 11/14/2009

They say they allow dogs 3-4 walks a day. Doesn't happen. Dogs sit in their cage in their own feces. Attendants unskilled, their fees vary and are inconsistent. Dissatisfied immensely with their care of our pet. You know the expression beware of dog, I say ""Beware of Belmont Animal Hospital in Belmont, NC Cons: Terrible Care of our pet more

CARE LACKING 10/29/2009

We are new to North Carolina and I boarded my older poodle here for 12 days & was thoroughly disappointed with the service. Linda the office manager was initially sweet and made us feel our dog would be well cared for. My daughter stopped by the office to bring meds & additional supplies for our poodle and was very rudely attended. The heavy set gal at the desk was engaged on the phone, to what appeared to be a personal call and didn't bother to acknowledge my 42 year old daughter's presence...if she didn't acknowledge a human, how well did they attend to my pooch???\r We returned from our trip & went to pick up our poodle...first the girl at the desk...a different one this time, told us an injection was made to our dog...when I questioned this, since our dog already had this in the spring, the girl looked further & said no it wasn't given. Secondly, when our poodle came out, she was wet & scraggly...looking nothing at all like the pooch we dropped off. I asked the attendant ""What Happened""...why does our dog look so scuffy...her response was ""What's Wrong""...Apparently she's used to sloppiness & the condition of our dog didn't bother HER! I said she's wet, knotted and truly looking like a mess...this isn't the way we brought her in...She told me the dog just had a bath...(apparently, looking like it was 2 minutes before we got there)...I told her we were told the bath would be given the day before we picked up our poodle...A very lax attempt was made to take our dog to the back for a little brushing out...\r Upon arriving home for 2 days our dog who has cataracts & is hard of hearing and the sweetest dog in every way...was jumpy at every attempt to be pet...& scratched continuously from a Flea Contamination...which she has never had...I called the office & complained to Linda the office manager...and was given numerous reasons for everything. NO ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO RECTIFY THIS SITUATION....You make the judgement call...I Won't Go Back! \r \r Owner: S & T - Belmont\r Pros: Initial Contact ONLY Cons: Care of Pets...Fleas...Uncaring Attitude toward Owners more

Belmont Animal Hospital is a Wonderful Place 1/22/2007

My cats and dogs go to Belmont Animal Hospital.\r Not only are Dr. Rinker's prices more reasonable than other veterinary offices, she makes a point of not raising the prices for her medications. Her heartworm prevention and flea and tick prevention are lower than other hospitals.\r She and her staff really care and her slogan "compassionate care with integrity" is 100% correct.\r I have never found their prices to fluxuate. She actually lowered her prices when she bought the practice in March 2006 from Dr. Silberman.\r It sounds like Cassie L.'s main deal is money. It costs to care for your pet. If you have to have a minor procedure repeated every 2 to 3 weeks, then you have to pay for it.\r I am one happy customer and so are my pets. more

So-So Satisfaction 10/3/2005

Dr. Rinker is the new vet at Belmont Animal Hospital. She's friendly and very community minded. My dog was a client there for several months. I was satisfied with her course of treatment, but didn't like the huge fluctuation in prices. My dog has a condition that requires a minor procedure to be performed by a vet about every 2 to 3 weeks. Prices for the same exact thing doubled within this time and tripled the next. I asked the office manager and she said they had increased prices. I understand that but after checking with 7 local vets, I discovered their "new" price to be over twice what the norm was. PROS: Good care CONS: Crazy and unreliable pricing more
