Bello Opticians

I have had my first and last experience with bello opticians. Nick is a rude, unprofessional, insulting SOB and it surprises me that he is still in business. His staff is rude , slow, and incompetent. I was insulted by his staff with my choice of frames, Nick was rude and insulting in person and over the phone and lied to me not just once but several times. Also, when i tried my glasses on I could not see 5 feet in front of me. He told me my glasses were fine.\r I have called my insurance company and have refused the glasses. I would go blind before i went back to bello opticians. more

My family has gone to Bello Opticians for glasses and contacts for over 20 years. It's a family owned business and it shows in the high level of customer service. Nick is superb, his son, daughter, and other customer reps are great - knowledgeable, friendly, fast, and a great value. I walked in recently with a broken nose pad on my primary glasses and a chewed up template tip on a pair of sunglasses (my dog). I hoped to get them back in a week or so. Anthony found spare parts and fixed both on the spot. No charge. Granted, I'm a good customer but I would have happily paid for the repair. Bello's does get busy at times but that's not surprising for a shop rated as Worcester's Best Optician for multiple years. I highly recommend. more

I went to Bello Opticians to replace the arms on a pair of glasses that had broken off. No appointment, no waiting. I was immediately approached and the gentleman that provided the service was professional and geniunely concerned about doing a good job. The price was reasonable and the service was outstanding. Bello Opticians is a great family owned business. Nick and his son Anthony and daughter Heidi are hard working and customer oriented. It is not your cookie cutter optician. It gets busy in there and at times there is a lot of activity. However if you want the best quality and modern style glasses, it's the place to go! You will be educated on the best lenses in the industry and you can choose what quality and price you want to pay for your glasses. I selected the higher quality lens and it was well worth it. If you want boring go to a typical optical shop. If you want the best go to Bello! more

Nick and his team are top notch! They really know their business. The treat me like a member of the family, whenever I come in for glasses, contacts or to repair something I sat on. They are the best! It's no wonder they have been in business so long. If there's a wait, it's because they are in high demand! more

I just got Davis Vision, and learned that my former eye doctor (Shewsbury Eye Care- fantastic people!) would no longer be able to take my insurance. So I found Bello through Davis, and since it was close by, I figured I would go there. After all, how hard can it be to get an annual exam and order contacts?? Apparently, it is very,very, very hard. I went to Bello THREE times in an attempt to get my contact lenses. I still do not have them, and I will not be going back. The 1st time I went, they acted as though they had no knowledge of my appointment and could not seem to comprehend that I needed to attend my (scheduled) exam. After waiting for about 20 minutes, the Dr. was ready for me. The Dr. was awkward, and seemed nervous for some reason. He sat and looked at me blankly after the exam was done until I got up on my own accord and let myself out of the room. Odd. I had issues with the trial pair, as they gave me the WRONG prescription. They argued with me when I called to tell them that I could not see properly, and stated that I ""must be wrong because that is impossible."" They also told me that I was having trouble seeing with those contacts because I am getting old. I am 26. When I went to get my 2nd trial pair, the staff took my glasses off of my face and walked away with them without warning me or telling me why. They handed me the trial pair at the front desk and said ""here, put these in,"" in the middle of the waiting room. I asked if I could wash my hands, and perhaps have access to a mirror. They seemed annoyed and pointed me towards the bathroom. There was no soap, nor any paper towels in the bathroom. This was a MAJOR concern to me. NASTY. Each time I had to call or go there, the staff were disorganized and it took several minutes for them to locate my information. They were unprofessional, and told me that I would have to be patient with them because they didn't ""want to half ass anything."" Which is ironic, because this whole place seems pretty ""half ass"" to me. My recommendation: Don't waste your time. I have no waited 1 &1/2 months for contacts that I am not getting through Bello. I am taking my business elsewhere, and I suggest you do the same. more

I have been to Bello Opticians several times. The doctor is always nice and pleasant but the staff is unprofessional. They argue amongst themselves in front of their clients, they dodge your phone calls and in this last instance, they didn't even fax my order until a month and a half later. Now I have to wait another month. I won't be going back. more

Dr. Giovannucci is great. However the service at the opticians needs improvement. The wait is usually a hour and rushed. But I must say they are very good when you get service. I just think they need more staff and need to be better organized. more

Doctor Giovannucci is always willing to help. However, the staff sometimes get very frustrated when customers inquire about the insurance benefits. Their attitudes are unprofessional and they need to adjust their tones when dealing with clients. This place has a bunch of amateurs who are very uninformed about the business. How they stay open for so long is a mystery to me. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who was dissatisfied by the smokey environment. more

great experience! Wonderful doctor!!! Very knowledgeable and caring. Teeming with activity. Lots of local people who seem loyal to the business. Great selection of frames and lots of help from the staff. Two thumbs up!!! more

Nick Bello explained to me why Zeiss makes a superior progressive lens, but I knew my lenses were an improvement already. I could see so much better! If you have a high power prescription like mine and have been disappointed with your progressive lenses, try a pair made by Zeiss. The improvement in peripheral vision is significant and the ""sweet spot"" feels much larger. Yes, they are expensive, but Zeiss is worth it. After all, it's your vision, right? more

Have been going to Bello's since I was 2yrs old. They have always been good to me and my family. They know my name and always acknowledge me when I come in. I have Davis and never had a problem with them. Hedi always reminds me when it's time to get new glasses or to have an eye appointment. The entire staff is great and the atmosphere is comfortable. I will continue to go here as long as I need to and tell everyone I know to as well. more

I have been going to Bello's for six years now and have never had a problem. Everyone in there is always very friendly. Nick the owner has been helping me with my last pair of glasses, there was nothing wrong with them but I wasn't completely happy with them and he went out of his way to make sure I was happy even if it meant getting an entirely different pair of glasses. As long as I live in worcester I will continue to go to Bello opticians. If you are new to the area or just looking for a new place to purchase contacts and lenses you should definitely try bello's. Also the optician Dr. G is great and very personable. Pros: Very accomadating, always friendly, nice family atmosphere Cons: parking can be limited sometimes more

The optical expertise here is unsurpassed. I've been wearing glasses since first grade - so for the last 37 years. When I first got glasses through Bello Opticians nearly 14 years ago, I was amazed at how much better my vision was than ever before. They have continued to provide a high level of service and professionalism to members of my family since then (six of us need serious vision correction.) Overpriced. Dr.G is great but the staff is shady. If you have Davis vision make sure they actually use your benfits.. they made me pay and didn't even submit the claim. I ended up paying the full price for everything. Their contact lenses are also very pricy. Don't go hear if you have Davis vision. pick some other place. Cons: Shady staff more

My recent experience with Nick Bello was very disappointing. A reviewer mentioned his proficiency in ""fitting"" glasses: apparently that is what his license or degree is in, because he seems not to know a thing about lenses. Not only were the frames I chose for progressive bifocal lenses not large enough to accommodate them (THEY were supposed to know this, not the customer), the peripheral 'vision' was blurry and of course shouldn't have been. I've been in touch with the appropriate authorities in an attempt to get a refund. Pros: convenient location Cons: read on. more

I went there a few months ago- i really liked the optometrist Dr. G- he was great and knowledgable. I can't say the same about the staff or the owner. My wife has been going to Nick for over 20 years and when we got married, she turned me on to the BEST optician I've ever dealt with. His forte is fit, you wear your glasses all the time, they must be comfortable and effective; no one is better at this than Nick. We walk in any time and he happily cleans and adjusts our glasses, his service is unparalleled. He's also got a great eye for style, it's come to the point were we just say, ""what should we get?"" and he helps select frames that look good on our faces and are within our budget. He's flexible. I brought in a pair of sunglasses that I bought in Italy and he made lenses for them with my new prescription. My wife wears one contact lens, he made a pair of glasses with only one correcting lens that she can wear for driving. Pros: Excellent, friendly service. Family business. Cons: It gets busy. Sometimes we have to wait. It's worth it. more
