I am a dance instructor and underarms need to be clean. For various reasons I never tried waxing and shaving gave me a not so greatof a result. I had researched off and on on waxing, on how it is better than shaving, both for the cleaner looks and for the skin but hesitated. Reluctantly, I choose Bella Skin and came in for my first ever waxing appointment, worried it will hurt and also feeling ackward. Michelle helped me and put me at ease literally within a minute of talking to me. Wow, she was done before I had the chance to tense up. The results were of course great. I have been doing this for a few months at Bella Skin now and it seems that it is helping my underarm skin. Instead of uneven tones and bumps, the skin is turning more even now. This also helps improve the underarm look. I regret all the years that I avoided doing this. Wish I had found Bella Skin earlier. more

Wonderful Spa 5/4/2011

I usually see Chani, who is very friendly and competent. She immediately put me at ease, even though I am a very large woman and was getting a Brazilian bikini wax. Believe me, it could have felt very awkward, but was instead a pleasant experience. She also did a beautiful job waxing my eyebrows. For facials and extractions, she is also amazing. Prices at Bella are very reasonable. Their new location is beautiful, and they have valet parking. more

Relaxing Friendly Spa 4/12/2011

This place has been fantastic since i started coming almost 5 years ago. I started off with a simple Bikini wax but have moved up to more services and i have not had one complaint yet. The wax they use is amazing too, it leaves my skin almost flawless, which many other places that use the wax and paper method never have. There after wax treatment MinNewYork is great too, i bought a small bottle of it and have had it for 7 months now. The girls who work there are great too, they have dealt with me making schedule changes 3 times in one day! and i have never waited more than 5 minutes for my appointment to start. I recommend Bella Skin to anyone who wants a beautiful wax that doesnt leave your skin full of ingrowns! more

Would not trade Bella Skin for any other place 2/27/2011

I am Chauni’s client now with Bella Skin over the past five years using a variety of its services (Waxing, Massages, Facials, Tanning, etc). I have also seen Trina and both Chauni and Trina are the heart & soul of this place. The Spa and its services are professional, relaxing, and modern. The great thing is that services are recommended and discussed, but never pushed on you. I have also tried out other Spa’s in the wider Boston area due to gift certificates and I would not trade Bella Skin, Chauni, or Trina for any other place. I highly recommend this Spa. more

Client for 3 years, about time I write a review! 6/24/2010

I've been going to Bella Skin for waxing for about 3 years now... I found them through great reviews here on Citysearch so it's about time I add my own feedback! \r \r I have seen Chani almost the whole time - while she was on maternity leave, I saw Trina. Both are fabulous and put you at ease for what could be a very uncomfortable situation. They are quick, friendly, and extremely professional. I was very happy when they took over the business from the previous owners - they are hardworking young entrepreneurs and deserve all of the business they are getting. Make sure you book your next appointment when you leave or you may not get one! I appreciate that they are open late and on Saturday as well. Keep up the good work, ladies! Great place! 1/5/2010

I was so excited about going to bella skin, especially after reading all the great reviews. I got the diamond microderm with a facial and it was amazing. My skin felt so soft afterwards and the staff was so friendly. She explained everything to me and she offered me advice about what I should do in the future. My skin felt so smooth afterwards and I will definitely come back! more

by far the best waxing 12/20/2009

after several years of enduring brazilian waxes at some of the best spas on both the east and west coast i booked an appointment here with nicole when my regular waxer was on vacation-- and i am now a regular here. the most pain free wax ever, clean, friendly, relaxing and nicole was awesome, she couldn't have been more relaxed and reassuring during what can at times be an awkward experience. she also explained that the reason the waxing was virtually pain free was because they use hard wax which is far better than what i'd been getting before, who knew? i am a regular now. it's a great salon. Pros: hard wax!! more

The Best of The Best!!!! 8/2/2009

I have been getting my Brazilian wax from Chani (now co-owner) since she started at Bella Skin a million years ago when it was under management of it's first owner. After changing ownership once and losing it's charm a the hands of some insane people, Chani and her partner Trina bought the place and have restored the integrity that made me a loyal Bella Skin client in the first place. I live in Brooklyn and make it a point to return to Newton, MA every six weeks for my wax. It may seem extreme given that there are plenty of places to get waxed in NYC but I can tell you that the Jay Sisters have nothing on Chani and Trina!!!! They give me a perfect wax, virtually pain-free thanks to the wax they use, each and every time!!!!! Thanks ladies!!!! Pros: They don't double dip their sticks, warm & wonderful staff. Cons: They are in MA, I live in NYC yet I still get waxed there... more

BEST SPA in Greater Boston --- nearly painless waxing 2/9/2009

I love this place beyond belief.... Everyone is so nice and friendly- they always try to accommodate crazy schedules...I questioned leaving the review because I feel like the place is my hidden secret but I felt it only fair give the girls credit for their beyond exceptional service!! \r \r Trina is amazing -- I have been going to her for nearly two years for everything from head to toe waxing - to facials \r \r ps -- if you know what a Martini Delight is--- this is by far the best place to go to for that !! :) Pros: Knowledgeable & Friendly Staff, Free Parking, BEST WAXING more

Bella Skin is great! The relaxing, nicely decorated atmosphere makes getting a not-so-enjoyable waxing more than bearable. The entire staff is friendly and helpful and parking is never an issue. I recommend this place to all my friends! more

Best ""Hip to Ankle"" Wax EVER! 7/24/2008

Prior to a vacation last month I booked a last minute appointment with Chanti for a full leg and brazillian wax, based on the glowing review on this site. I could not have been more pleased, not only was the experience as painless as waxing can be but I was smooth in just about 1 hour! When I am getting a pedicure I want the time to last and last, but as we all know with waxing the experience should be as efficient as possible & it was. \r \r Unfortunately (for me), the crew must be on vacation this week and I was due for my 4 week appointment. I decided to go elsewhere. Even though I paid a little less, I got what I paid for! I am bruised, burnt and the skin on my calves is peeling!!!! And the torture lasted over 2 hours!\r \r Never again will I leave Bella Skin without booking my next appointment! Thanks again Chanti, I'll see you in 4 weeks! Pros: online booking, great staff, skills, no pressure to buy product more

Best Brazilian Wax! 4/25/2008

What an awesome experience! It was my first time getting a Brazilian Wax, and I was really nervous. Chanti did a great job at making me feel comfortable, it went by quick, and it turned out so great! Pros: Very nice environment, and clean. Cons: Not a lot of parking. more

Never be nervous about waxing again! 4/2/2008

I had never been brave enough to go for a Brazilian but, for my wedding and honeymoon, I wanted to do something special. I read the reviews about Bella Skin and got up the nerve to make an appointment, fully expecting some amount of pain and suffering. I could not have been more off the mark. \r \r When I entered the spa, I was immediately absorbed into the clean, relaxed atmosphere. The women there were very kind and put my worries to rest almost as soon as they spoke. As for the actual experience, it could not have been easier. Something about the kind of wax combined with her technique... all I can say is that I will definitely be going back knowing there is NOTHING TO FEAR. Pros: Relaxed atmosphere, skill, painless. Cons: No plush robes. more

Best Brazilian Ever 3/31/2008

I had the Brazilian bikini wax last Saturday and it was the best one I've ever had...and I've been to some of the well known salons specializing in this service in Los Angeles. The technique applied by the girl who did my wax was less painful because she did not use strips, and she was thorough. The setting was very relaxing as well. Pros: Exceptional brazilian with less pain. Priced right. Cons: Can't think of any. more

Best Massage I've EVER had! I love the waxing and facials too, of course... 3/19/2008

I am 9 months pregnant and now past my due date. I went to see Nicole at the recommendation of Chani who I've been going to for years. I have had plenty of massages and let me tell you Nicole was amazing! She gave me a prenatal massage which basically means that you lie on your side as opposed to your tummy and back. The pressure was perfect, the room was the right amount of light, the music was soothing and the bed was heated! Oh, it was bliss and if I could give Nicole 10 stars in this review I would. She was excellent and I recommend that anyone should go to her. She used to teach massage and knows exactly what she's doing! Pros: Great Massage, Great Facials, Great Waxing, Awesome and Friendly Staff Cons: None! more

Best brazillian anywhere!!! 2/1/2008

I go to Chani every 5 weeks for my brazillian and she is the besttttttttt!!!!! It doesn't even hurt. If you can stand a little pinch, then this is nothing!!!!!! She's so personable and charming and the salon is beautiful, clean and the staff is sooo amazingly sweet. Not snobby or stuck up at all, like many of those wannabe posh spas on newbury st. I went to Violet's spa and my experience there was awful. This salon is top notch!!! Best of all, there's ample parking and the place is pretty easy to find, since I make the drive from the north shore to Newton every month. takes 20 mins. on the mass pike. Pros: PARKING, SERVICE, AMBIENCE, THE GIRLS ARE SWEET! more

Excellent Customer Service 1/11/2008

On my way to my first appointment at Bella Skin I got completely lost. Convinced my appointment would be canceled for showing up late, I called the spa and informed them I would be ten minutes late. Not to worry, they gave me directions and I finally arrived15 minutes late. At any other spa I'm sure I would have been turned away but Bella Skin was nothing but accommodating. Trina is excellent, I had my first bikini wax with her and she was professional, friendly, quick and (almost) pain free! I was expecting an uncomfortable experience, because of the nature of the appointment and the fact that I was running so late, but experienced quite the opposite. This is quite the gem. Thank you! Pros: Customer service, value, atmosphere Cons: None I can think of. more
