Bella Luna has delicious pizza with a chewy crust and some fabulous topping combinations. You can go simple here, or go for one of their combos, like eggplant, ricotta and spinach. The place is very crowded dinner hour on weekends, with reason. They take reservations. Everything is good here, from the bread with olive oil to the desserts. For a solitary book-reading evening, take yourself there early in the week for a glass of wine and small pizza. The spinach salad is excellent. more

Bella Luna in jamaica plain has one of the best pizzas around. The atmosphere, the food, and the service are all great. Too bad the pizza chains couldn't all be like Bella Luna. The staff really make great decisions for you depending on what type of pizza you would want. Thinking of the pizzas are making me hungry. more

Bella Luna is among my favorite restaurants in Jamaica Plain. From the funky atmosphere, to delicious food and friendly wait staff....this restaurant never fails to please me. The pizza is top notch! My family just loves it. An added bonus-they deliver! It's our favorite Friday night treat. The have many different types of pizza and an astounding array of add-ons to please everyone. The staff is really knowledgeable about ingredients and different dietary concerns. I am a really strict vegetarian, an I hate cheese. Every time I order my favorite pizza (Intergalactic Eggplant) without cheese they let me know that the eggplant does contain some dairy. This, to me, is outstanding service. The menu is full of great options for vegetarians, and the staff is very accommodating. The atmosphere is just super, with hand designed plates and great lighting. Sitting at the windows is my favorite, as the people watching is superb. This is one of my favorite places in Jamaica Plain, and deserves a great review! more

It seems like almost everyone I know in Boston has moved to JP in the last ten years, and I think Bella Luna is part of the reason why. It's not for the food (though it is good).It's not for the funky atmosphere (though it can't help but make you smile).It's not even for the super cool candlepin bowling alley down in the Milky Way Lanes below the restaurant.Bella Luna is ultimately so wonderful because it's clearly a neighborhood institution, and it both reflects and reenforces the diversity and community that is at the heart of the attraction of JP.(Full Disclosure: I was one of the original investors in Bella Luna and remain friends with the owners (who are great!)) more
