Nothing special Pros: Good Food Cons: Bad Service

The Salads Are Very Tasty 1/12/2011

The Bread is Always Fresh 1/7/2011

In terms of takeout and food quality, the bread is always fresh, the juice is always flavorful, the sandwiches are really fairly priced, and the appetizers keep me excited. i love this place more

Enjoyed Beirut Palace 1/7/2011

Personally, I enjoy Beirut Palace. Sure there are a lot of other Middle Eastern alternatives around, but Beirut definitely wins on location when you live in Royal Oak. I also like the fact that they have hookahs. I admit that it's a little weird to sit around and order a meal and a hookah in the same spot, but it's still fun. You don't have to do both together if you don't want. But the location is definitely a nice place to sit outside, smoke a hookah, and enjoy downtown Royal Oak. more

Good Service & Excellent Food 12/28/2010

The year after I graduated from college, I met one of my old professors here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We received very good service, and the food was excellent. I had no complaints and would gladly go back here again. more

Great Customer Service Followed With Delicious Meals 12/14/2010

My husband and I have eaten here at Beirut Palace on at least a dozen occasions and will continue to returning. They don't rush their customers to consume their food. I recommend Beirut Palace if you want to try or even love Middle Eastern food. The food is ethnic and prices are reasonable. more

I love this place! 11/9/2010

I go here all the time, but usually for takeout so I don't know much about the actual service, but in terms of takeout and the food itself, I really enjoy it. I love the food, especially the whipped garlic and raw juices. They're good at what they do. the owner, whom has serviced me every single time I've been there, is always making sure that I am taken care of. He always double checks my bag to see if I got everything and throws in extra bread since he knows I like the bread. In terms of takeout and food quality, the bread is always fresh, the juice is always flavorful, the sandwiches are really fairly priced, and the appetizers keep me excited. I love this place! more

Best Middle Eastern Food! 10/25/2010

Beirut Palace is the best Middle Eastern food you'll find outside of Dearborn in the Detroit area. more

The service and food are great 10/5/2010

I have been eating at Beirut for several years now and I can't think of one bad take out experience or detrimental dine in incident. The service is great and regulars are always graciously thanked for their continuous patronage. Beirut Palace also has a patio where customers can dine outside and enjoy the sunshine while smoking Turkish tobacco off of one of many hookahs this joint has lining the walls inside the restaurant. For the price of dishes and the proportions this is the perfect place to grab a plentiful and healthy lunch or dinner. more

great prices 10/5/2010

Great place for take out! Standard menus but great prices and great food! more

The juice bar is incredible 10/1/2010

I had never before tried the fresh juices and smoothies until my friend got some sort of carrot juice concoction last time I ate here. Let me tell you, the juice bar is incredible and the smoothies are delish. I've tried a few different ones now, all have included carrot and banana. Some have had fruit and honey (like mango), others have had vegetables (like celery). I absolutely love the stuff. I haven't tried a combination that I dislike yet! If I could afford it, I'd buy myself a juicer or just come here everyday for a smoothie. more

I had the lunch special roasted... 9/21/2010

I had the lunch special roasted chicken "sandwich" (wrapped in a flat bread) with a side tabuli salad. My friend and I couldn't finish our main order because the tabuli was so good. The chicken sandwich was very tasty. Rather than fries for a side, I got the rice and it was Really Good. I am coming around to making judgments about a restaurant based on their rice pilaf. This place did that very well. I felt the value was good. more

I love this place 9/16/2010

Highlights for me include the grape leaves sandwich, vegetarian platters, love the baba, like the bread (though it gets hard after an hour or so), good lentil soup if you load it with lemon, and good smoothies. I love this little place and I love going back. more

Nice people 9/8/2010

We like this place for all of the middle east standards. Nice people here too. more

I love this little place! 8/20/2010

I love this little place and I love going back. I'm happy about the smoking ban too because the smoking section (cigarettes) wasn't partitioned in a way that made the section make a difference. more

Worst Arabic food ever! 8/18/2010

My husband and I went here last weekend, we are Arabic and Muslim and we are fasting for Ramadan. I took a break from cooking and went here and that was a big mistake. We decided to sit outside because it is a nice outdoor setting. Our salad, soup and hommous was very good, but once our food came, I remembered why we never liked this restaurant when we came before. I ordered chicken gallabah(like a stir fry) and he ordered baked lamb shank. His lamb was not tender at all like it's supposed to be and my gallabah...well I don't even consider it gallabah! It was bland and the chicken was dry and there was no sauce like there's supposed to be with gallabah! Then, our waiter never came to check on us... never! We had to wait and wait and then we finally got our boxes because we didn't want to waste all the food that we didn't really enjoy enough there to eat, so we took it home, hoping we'd eat it later on. We got our bill and it was around $45 dollars with our tip! $45 for what? Like I said, we are Arabic and we know the food and we have eaten at plenty other restaurants where our bill is between $25-$30 and the food is delicious. But this place, rip off!!!! If we ever, ever in our lives go back there, it will not be for the food or service, it will be for a smoothie to enjoy outside. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially if it is their first time trying Arabic food, once they eat here, they'll think all Arabic food is nasty! I recommend Al-Ameers in Dearborn, Royal Kabob in Hamtramck and Sheba in Hamtramck! Those are delicious! more

Middle Eastern food 3/23/2006

Beirut Palace is Royal Oak's Middle Eastern restaurant. They have fresh bread for hummus, which is slightly sweet, but good. Their chicken shwarma is very good and always fresh. Service is quite good as well. They have outside seating in the summer, which is a great corner for people watching. more
