Would rate Behnke Nursery at zero stars, if possible. As part of two separate Saturday visits, purchased nearly $2,000 worth of plants and planting services. Thereafter, dealt with terrible and somewhat non-responsive customer service when dealing with the single individual responsible for arranging installation. After receiving contradictory statements, as well as information not mentioned within planting services contract, was ultimately told it would not be possible to plant the items at our home due to the amount of work needed. After much wasted time and aggravation, can only recommend others seek another nursery who will actually provide quality service! more

good plants 2/14/2006

i was looking for jasmine a rare plant and was able to get one there and it is awesome. it has lots of buds and keeps blooming all seasons. i am happy. the staff is very knowledgeble and can easil help us with our requirements. they consider our priority and try to help us to the maximum as possible. more

who knew roses were so expensive 10/24/2005

We went here for my brother's wedding...got a lot of great ideas..but realized that this company was way too expensive for us. It's a beautiful place with great looking flowers, but who knew roses were so expensive. PROS: exceptional service, beautiful nursery CONS: too expensive more

A DC gardening institution: prices are steep, but help and selection are outstanding 6/4/2005

If you are clueless about gardening, this an excellent place to come and get advice about stuff to put in your yard. The staff is generally very knowledgeble and can provide good suggestions for "problem" spots. The product is very well cared for, even if the prices can be quite steep. They've been in the location for decades, and are very well known, so expect the place to be quite busy. If you want more help, try to go on a weekday in the late morning. If you know a good bit about gardening, then perhaps you can get better deals elsewhere, but if you need expert advice, this is a good place to start. more
